Access all Areas with Swansea City AFC
Ahead of the new 20130-14 season, Liberty Stadiums media department used the summer break to upgrade Swansea's audiovisual capabilities. To do this, they used Blackmagic Design equipment supplied by Jigsaw24. “Up until that point we’d been taking a single HD-SDI feed from our OB compound, usually from one of the broadcasters covering the match, and piped that over fiber to my office in the West stand,” reveals Mark Williams, head of the media department at the Liberty Stadium. “With an increased demand throughout the club for access to a live match day feed, we had to rethink our approach for managing everything. I spoke with the Sky production team, who advised they could supply us with as many feeds as we could handle, which is when I began to explore how I would manage and distribute all of those feeds.”

Lenny Kravitz at the Opening Ceremony of the 2013 US Open Tennis Championships
The Opening Ceremony, which took place in the 22,500-seat Arthur Ashe Stadium at New York’s Flushing Meadows, was lit by Christien Methot. It featured an explosive performance of Are You Gonna Go My Way from Lenny Kravitz who brought in LD Bryan Barancik to design the lighting for his performance. Barancik chose to relate his design back to the song’s iconic music video. The original video, which is still considered outstanding twenty years after it was first released, featured an enormous overhead matrix of light bulbs. Barancik wanted to incorporate a similar aesthetic into the show to tie in with the anniversary of the song. He chose Ayrton MagicPanel™ fixtures as the ideal solution to provide the power and creativity needed to echo this in front of the massive stadium and television audiences, and to punch through the intensity of the large rig of ceremony lighting fixtures.

Mayers Chooses Litepanels LEDs for ABC Comedy “Mixology”
Cinematographer Michael Mayers’ assignment for the new ABC half-hour single camera comedy “Mixology” is to create a rich dramatic look with an immediacy and upbeat approach to his photography. “Because this is comedy, and there is a lot of improvisation, I try to cross-shoot with our two ARRI Alexa cameras which carry either Angenieux Optimo or Fujinon Cabrio lenses, whenever I can,” says Mayers. “That way, all the actors in the scene are ‘on’ at the same time and we don’t have to go back to shoot the other side of the coverage and lose the spontaneity of the moment. Of course, that approach really ups the ante on my lighting. And, that’s where Litepanels LEDs are key to my getting the shots.”
