FIFA has published the key findings of a comprehensive audit of the final audience data for the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™. A combined 1.12 billion viewers tuned into official broadcast coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 across all platforms – a record audience for the competition. Linear TV accounted for the majority of the global audience, with 993.5 million viewers watching at least one minute of coverage on a TV set at home, an increase of 30% on the audience for the 2015 edition held in Canada, which reached 764.0 million.

The European Parliament and Lawo are among the winners of a coveted AV Award, with the EP’s Mission Transparency project receiving the “Public Sector Project of the Year” award. London-based Spiritland Productions recently commissioned its new state-of-the-art large-format ‘Spiritland One’ sound and video OB truck, featuring a BroaMan point-to-point fibre transport system running between the truck and the stagebox. The one-of-a-kind luxury mobile production vehicle, built by Megahertz Ltd, contains an end-to-end IP infrastructure, and audio runs entirely on a Dante network, which the BroaMan environment supports. Their system is based on two new Repeat48WDM-24 with 2Fiber boards, the layout allowing BNC SDI ports to be combined with SFPs, with all signals able to be multiplexed into common fibre.

China-based Shanxi Television has chosen a Calrec Brio36 audio console for its news programming and multi-purpose talk shows. The Brio is installed in a new studio, which was initially used for covering the China National Youth Games, held this August, with more than 10 hours of live broadcasting produced in the studio each day. This is the broadcaster’s second Brio installation with the first installed a year ago.
