First Live Production with S12: brutal güet Deploys Lawo AoIP and Flexible Broadcast Workflows at the Winter Classics
The Women’s Winter Classics in Gstaad marked the first live outing for OB truck S12, the new mobile production unit operated by Swiss broadcast service provider brutal güet. Produced for RED+, the open-air event — a flagship fixture of Switzerland’s top-tier women’s ice hockey league — also served as the inaugural live deployment of the vehicle’s fully IP-based Lawo audio infrastructure. At the core of the audio control room is a Lawo mc²56 MkIII console with 48 faders, paired with a redundant A__UHD Core and an AoIP environment based on SMPTE ST 2110, AES67 and RAVENNA. The production demonstrated how flexible system configurations, efficient workflows and high audio quality can be reliably implemented in a demanding live environment.
LiveU Enables Cloud Production Workflow for ITVX's First Ever Live Stream – Love Island: The Morning After
Last summer, ITV celebrated the tenth anniversary of its popular reality dating show, Love Island. To ramp up the excitement of series 12 (launched in the UK on 9th June) and to engage younger demographics the broadcaster, supported by LiveU, expanded Love Island's highly successful digital-first strategy. For the first time, ITV live streamed the official podcast, Love Island: The Morning After on ITVX and YouTube to give fans the added benefit of a live ‘watch-along’, which aired at the same time as the main launch show on ITV2. Love Island is produced by Lifted Entertainment, part of ITV Studios, and GroupM Motion Entertainment.
ORF opts for IP-based production: BFE implements multimedia newsroom for TV and radio
Austrian broadcaster ORF has comprehensively modernized its news and radio production facilities. As part of the Multimedia Newsroom (MMNR) project, new studio and control room technology for TV was implemented, along with a central radio production infrastructure. BFE Studio und Medien Systeme GmbH was responsible for the technical planning, integration, and commissioning.
With the new production areas, ORF now has a cross-media infrastructure that more closely links television, radio, and online. This increases efficiency, flexibility, and operational reliability—and creates the technical basis for cross-platform news production.

Riedel RefCam Takes Center Court in German Basketball Research Initiative With DBB and DSHS
Riedel Communications, in cooperation with the German Basketball Federation (DBB) and the German Sport University Cologne (DSHS), deployed its RefCam for the first time in Germany’s 2. Basketball-Bundesliga. As part of a scientific research project, the head-mounted camera technology was implemented on Dec. 28, 2025, during the game between EPG Baskets Koblenz and Bozic Estriche Knights Kirchheim in Koblenz. This research initiative aims to develop a comprehensive training concept to improve decision-making skills among basketball referees.

Riedel Builds Global Communication and Commentary Network for 15th National Games of China
Riedel Communications announced in December it provided a fully integrated communications and commentary solution for the 15th National Games of China, supporting 56 competition venues and four International Broadcast Centers (IBCs) across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. Over the 30-day event, the system operated without interruption, enabling seamless coordination for 56 broadcasting teams and 39 ultra-high-definition productions.
Bridge Technologies Introduces Multi-service AV Synchronisation to VB440
Bridge Technologies has announced a significant new enhancement to the AV Sync function contained within its award-winning VB440 production probe. The new multi-service AV sync comparison feature enables frame-accurate synchronisation assessment across multiple delivery paths of the same service. Designed for live IP production environments where redundancy is critical, but applicable in a range of contexts, the new capability allows engineers to assess and compare multiple flows carrying the same service - for instance, across satellite, SRT, or other IP routes - so that seamless, glitch-free switching can occur when it matters most.
