Raycom holds the ACC digital rights and syndicated television rights of ACC men’s basketball and football telecasts through 2027. In a partnership with the ACC and ESPN, Raycom operates the ACC Network, which distributes ACC content through live television broadcasting, original programming via digital technologies, historical archives, mobile applications, social media, ACC Championship events and the official ACC website. Reckord in Pilsen - Capital City of Culture 2015
Every year, The title European Capital of Culture is awarded to two cities from two EU member states with the aim of supporting European cultural cooperation. This support helps to unify Europe by recognizing common cultural values and the protection and development of the cultural wealth of individual states. In the past, towns such as Patras, Cork, Genoa, Lille, Graz, Salamanca, Liverpool, Vilnius, Pécs, as well as the Slovak town of Košice in 2013 have all boasted the title. The two Capital Cities of Culture 2015 are Mons in Belgium and Pilsen in the Czech Republic. Reckord was in Pisen on 17 January for the live broadcast of the opening ceremony.

QVC Upgrades Audio Technology with Lawo
Lawo announced that QVC, Inc. has taken delivery of four Lawo mc² series audio consoles and a Nova73 HD central router for their broadcast facilities at its corporate headquarters in West Chester, PA. The mc²56 MKII consoles are being installed in three different control rooms as well as a main theatre and will be interconnected through redundant Lawo Nova73s to provide a completely flexible networked solution interfacing with 10 studio areas. The project was handled by Lawo’s North American office in Toronto, Canada.

Pixel Power Drives News Graphics at UTV Ireland
UTV is the leading independent television station in Northern Ireland, where it is an extensive user of Pixel Power graphics products. Launched on 1st January 2015 UTV Ireland serves viewers in the Republic of Ireland. The channel is transmitted from Belfast, using Pixel Power BrandMaster graphics and control, with news broadcast live from a new-state-of-the-art newsroom in Dublin. “The Dublin newsroom was a standalone greenfield site for us, so we started with a blank sheet of paper for the equipment,” said Michael Corcoran, Director of Broadcast Technology and Operations.

Lighting designer and long-term ArKaos advocate, Francesco Calvi, turned to ArKaos MediaMaster Pro yet again to deliver the creative visuals for the 11th season of Big Brother Australia 2014, the popular reality television series. The Big Brother House was located at Dreamworld on Australia’s Gold Coast, from where the live shows, hosted by Sonia Kruger, were broadcast weekly over 3 months by the Nine Network, before culminating in a grand finale in December.

TRACAB is a cornerstone in SEF's "connected stadium" program to install powerful wireless networks and technologies in all arenas and provide richer data to coaches and other league personnel as well as Allsvenskan fans. TRACAB uses advanced patented image processing technology to identify the position and speed of all moving objects within each football arena. At 25 times per second, the system generates live, highly accurate X, Y, and Z coordinates for every viewable object, including players, referees, and even the ball. The data provide valuable insight for coaches to evaluate player performance and track metrics such as distance run, speeds, stamina, team formations, and more. In addition, the TRACAB data will be used to enhance live television coverage of matches with "instant virtual replays" as well as enriching fans' experience through second-screen applications and streaming to arena video walls.

Virtual Bobsleigh Animation Introduced at Viessmann FIBT World Cup in Altenberg
Together with the Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et Tobogganing (FIBT) as well as its media, marketing and production partner Infront Sports & Media, the feature provided by BMW has now been offered to all FIBT broadcasters worldwide. Infront produces the Viessmann FIBT World Cup Tour with more than 30 cameras in HD quality – the virtual animation adding a valuable insight to the sport before the start of the race. The complex animated HD material will also be used to generate static graphics, made available to online and print media without copyright for editorial reporting.

2015 FIS World Championships: Infront Opens Up New Broadcast Markets
The host broadcast operation is being handled by ORF – the Austrian national public service broadcaster – with all races produced in HDTV. Besides the live and delayed international feed, Infront also offers additional tailor-made programming such as highlights footage and interviews, based on client’s need. Up to 12 commentary positions have been booked by broadcasters to provide up-to-the-minute detail of the action from the slopes. Over 150 media representatives across television, print and online media will be present at the event reporting extensively over the full ten day schedule.

WIcreations Designs Custom Video Cube for Die Fantastischen Vier Tour
Belgian based engineering and automation specialists WIcreations designed the 4 metre square 6-faceted video cube which is the visual centerpiece of the current ‘Record’ tour by German hip-hop superstars Die Fantastischen Vier. The striking video feature – which moves on all axes and rotates throughout the show – is at the hub of the spectacular and inventive set, lighting and visuals show created by Gunther Hecker. In addition to displaying conventional playback video, its different fascias are used as alternative lightsources. In the second half of the show, three large sections of gold mirror surface rise up from ground level around three sides of the stage, and the video takes on yet another dimension with these used to bounce and reflect its ambient light back onto the stage.

Clouseau Central Show Designed by Painting With Light
Maverick Belgian superstars Clouseau rocked the first two (of four) spectacular “Clouseau Central” shows at the Antwerp Sportpalais, complete with stage, set, lighting and visuals designed - to match the profile of the occasion - by Luc Peumans from creative design practice, Painting With Light. Clouseau have a huge rapport with their fans, and Koen, as the charismatic and highly engaging front man, loves to be close to the crowds, so they decided once again that ‘in-the-round’ was the route to take. To make it original and different, Luc then proposed a set design based on a rectangular stage in the middle of the arena with four zig-zagging runways coming out from each corner and running right down the length of the auditorium. “Clouseau Central” was born.

Robe Pointes to 2015 in Berlin
Once again Robe fixtures played a major role in lighting the massive New Year’s Eve celebrations in front of the iconic Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, closing a year that celebrated 25 years since the momentous ‘fall’ of the Berlin Wall in November, and that looked forward to 2015 with lots of positive energy and great hopes and ambitions. Lighting designer Lars Murasch of TLT EVENT AG used nearly 100 Robe moving lights on his rig this year – 64 Pointes, 16 x MMX Spots and 18 x MMX WashBeams. The event featured all-action performances by Tony Christie, Tokio Hotel, Laith Al Deen, Star violinist David Garrett and mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins, David Hasselhoff, the Hermes House Band and many more and was enjoyed by around a million visitors … and broadcast live on Germany’s National ZDF channel.

Now, the network has joined forces with Sony and chosen 50 HDC-2570 models, a multi-format HD portable system camera with a digital triax transmission interface, and the HKC-T1500 extension adaptor. RTBF has opted for this unique solution because it includes the most advanced technologies for studio cameras and offers exceptional image quality, without causing obstructions during mobile use. RTBF members want to be able to use shoulder cameras on a daily basis to obtain exclusive images and videos.

Singapore's National Performing Arts Center Updates with Clear-Com
Clear-Com® announced that Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, Singapore’s national performing arts center enhances their production intercom system with Clear-Com digital solutions. The center upgrades its existing partyline intercom system with the HelixNet Digital Partyline system, as well as installed an Eclipse HX Median and Eclipse HX PiCo Digital Matrix Intercom Systems.The project was supported by Clear-Com’s local partner, Electronics & Engineering Pte Ltd. Performance communications is an important element in Esplanade’s daily operations, ensuring that all show cues are executed accurately on time and that the performances run smoothly. The existing partyline system was producing constant ‘hum’ and ‘buzz’ noises that are inherent in typical analog systems.

4K Soccer - A Review on the FIFA World Cup 4K Production
For the World Cup final, Sony employed 12 PMW-F55 and one F65, the latter to record in 4K with 120 images/s. Three of the cameras were outfitted with Cabrio lenses and 10 with Fujinon Cine lenses – both of which were ccontrolled through Chrosziel’s Aladin BC: three with 24-180 mm Fujinon Cine HK7.5x24, five with 75-400 mm Fujinon Cine HK5.3x75, two with the Cabrio 19-90 mm Fujinon ZK4.7x19 as well as one with a Cabrio 85-300 mm Fujinon ZK3.5x85. For control from the operating center, Chrosziel’s Aladin BC was connected to Sony’s fiberglass adapter CA-4000 so that the power supply could also be conducted through the camera. All versions of Aladin, by the way, can be supplied through the camera.
