Adlib renewed its excellent and long term working relationship with Grammy nominated US rock band Panic! at The Disco, providing sound, video and lighting production, plus crew for their recent UK and European tours. Once again Tony Marino was at the helm as the highly-respected tour manager. The band released their fifth studio album, ‘Death of a Bachelor’ in January 2016 and have had a mega busy year.

Adlib supplied full audio production to the Glasgow & Manchester gigs on the recent UK leg of Snarky Puppy’s Immigrance world tour, plus a control package – comprising two Yamaha CL5 consoles for FOH and monitors, a line system and all the associated cable and distribution infrastructure for the other UK and European dates. These included one night at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
 

Adlib was delighted to be the audio supplier for the incredible – and apparently final – Giant Spectacular show staged in Liverpool, produced by the iconic street and outdoor theatre company Royal de Luxe, who are based in Nantes, France.
 

Several challenges faced lighting designer Sven Kučinić when asked to design a high-profile one off show for Croatian pop superstar Ivan Zak in front of 18,000 adoring fans at Zagreb Arena. Forming his first band at 14 and hitting the big time in 2009 with the “Adrenaline” album and single, this was the star’s largest show to date … so to make a BIG impression, Sven chose to work with Robe moving lights for maximum impact.

More visitors, a packed conference programme, a city location popular with the society's members and a more popular series of events and seminars contributed to the success of the recent European Convention of the Audio Engineering Society, held from May 22-25th at the Novotel Exhibition Centre in Hammersmith, London.

Part one of the 2016-17 multi-artist musical spectacular “Afrikaans is Groot” produced by Coleske Artists was staged at Moreleta Park Church in Pretoria, South Africa,  featuring some of the best Afrikaans performers in the country. The show will play at Cape Town’s Grandwest Arena in March 2017.

The Afterlife series of worldwide electronic music festivals arrived in Dubai, UAE for the first time in February at the Hangar 4 industrial warehouse event space. Lighting Designer Pascal Bach of VEM Visionemotion GmbH utilized 100 Claypaky Sharpy fixtures to deliver the evening’s signature Afterlife look within the monumental space.

Since the festival's inception in 2011, attendance has increased with ticket sales surpassing 30,000 for 2016.  Sunset Music Festival has become the destination electronic dance music festival for central Florida.  EDM fans from around the state, country and the world converged on the gulf town to enjoy over 60 artists across three stages during the two-day event held Memorial Day weekend.

For two weekends in April, The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes over the Empire Polo Club grounds with music, food and art displays. As in years past, AG Production Services provided the Mega Structures Mini enclosure, rigging, staging, video and lighting for the Sahara tent. 

Four Ai Media S8 Infinity servers provided the cutting edge video mapping technology and incredible 16 HD DVI outputs that powered the ethereal visuals behind global super-group Coldplay's much anticipated Royal Albert Hall (RAH) gig in London.

Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes shot to fame via a clip he posted to Vine in 2014 and has quickly garnered pop royalty status with a social media fan following of millions. At the pinnacle of his career playing sold out arenas around the world, Shawn is currently embarking on his ‘Illuminate’ world tour – and leading French manufacturer and provider of lighting balloons for the event industry, Airstar, is helping to set the unique stage for the hottest ticket of 2017 with its Pendulair LED product.

UK-based production company Second Sight Video provides video production and support services for events and conferences and has worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, including Audi, AstraZeneca, Volkswagen, SKODA UK, McCann Erickson, and more. Working on a recent brand experience event for SKODA UK, Second Sight Video used the AJA Ki Pro portable video recorder to deliver live and recorded concert footage of world renowned DJ Tiesto.

Life is Beautiful is a three-day music and lifestyle festival in downtown Las Vegas from October 24-26 taking place over 21 city blocks. Performing at the festival are 67 musical acts that range from the Foo Fighters to Lionel Ritchie, Kanye West and many more. In order to facilitate Internet broadcasts of the performances, event sponsors hired Nashville-based Camp Digital as the on-site video production company.

Built in 1911, Toronto’s sprawling Casa Loma is rumored to be haunted, making it the perfect setting for the haunted house experience “Legends of Horror.” The promenade theatre featured dressed sets augmented by fog, sound effects and animatronics, bringing the venue alive for this year’s Halloween celebration; more than 70 actors representing iconic horror characters like Dracula and Frankenstein and 3D and laser projections took the experience to a whole new level. Production designer, independent VFX supervisor, colorist and editor Clark Graff lent his services to the project, including the creation of intricate 3D projections such as a plague ridden tunnel overrun by rats and dead bodies, a hellish fire, a demon possessed tree and more. AJA® KONA 3G and Io™ 4K and were key in the creation of each projection.

Each December iHeartRadio hosts the annual Jingle Ball Tour, which travels to 11 major US cities and features the year’s most sought-after recording artists. To bring the live music experience featuring performances by Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, The Chainsmokers and many other acts to concert goers at venues and fans at home, VER provides on-site AV support with a gear kit that features a host of products including AJA’s Ki Pro digital recorders and players, FS frame syncs and Mini-Converters.
