TVN Group Chooses Calrec for 5.1 Mix

Calrec Audio announced today that it supplied the audio console that handled surround-sound routing for a full-scale, live-to-air production of Mozart's opera "The Abduction From the Seraglio" in two hangars at Salzburg Airport — an event that the host broadcaster called "Austria's most complex, prestigious, and important audio event in 2013." German outside broadcast (OB) company TVN Group along with cooperative partner Euro TV were responsible for the live broadcast during the 2013 Salzburg Festival. TVN installed an Artemis Beam console in a separate on-site audio container to handle the 5.1 music mix for the production and Calrec Hydra I/O boxes to feed the console.

Mozart’s Masterpiece: Sennheiser at the Salzburg Serail

On 26 August 2013, the Salzburg Festival presented an extraordinary new production of “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” (The Abduction from the Seraglio) in cooperation with Austrian private TV channel ServusTV. Mozart’s masterpiece was transferred from the 18th century to the present day and was performed in the spectacular setting of Hangar-7 and Hangar-8 at Salzburg Airport. A Digital 9000 wireless microphone system from audio specialist Sennheiser was used to transmit the voices of stars such as Desirée Rancatore and Tobias Moretti.

TNDV Celebrates Business Milestone with National Quartet Convention Production

TNDV this month hit the 100-project milestone for its flagship HD/SD mobile production truck, Aspiration, in Louisville, Kentucky, where the company produced outside broadcast and in-house feeds for the annual National Quartet Convention (NQC).  TNDV also brought its recently-launched audio truck Vibration to the venue, Freedom Hall, to produce surround sound feeds (5.1 and 7.2) and multitrack recordings for the world-renowned six-day gospel music event.

“David Bowie is”: Sennheiser Ensures Great Sound at the Art Gallery of Ontario

After an extremely successful run at the renowned Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London, the “David Bowie is” exhibition is now touring other leading venues of art and design around the globe. The next stop is the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), Canada, one of the most important art museums in North America. “David Bowie is” will be on view in Toronto from 25 September to 27 November 2013. As at the V&A, which curated this unique exhibition, audio specialist Sennheiser is working hand in hand with the AGO to ensure an immersive sound experience for visitors. Historic Concert in Kashmir with Zubin Mehta

On the 7th September 2013 maestro Zubin Mehta and the Bavarian State Orchestra hosted a landmark event in the foothills of the Himalayas in the town of Srinagar.   Srinagar had not witnessed any official form of cultural activity since a cricket match in 1983, making this one of the most eagerly anticipated concerts in recent times.  Zubin Mehta is the Music Director for Life of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and main conductor for Valencia’s Opera House.  Nearly 2,000 guests attended the event, hosted by the German Embassy in the Shalimar Gardens in Srinagar.

Metallica Headlines Roskilde With Martin Lighting

The Roskilde Music Festival in Denmark, one of Europe’s biggest summer music festivals, has brought together some of the world’s most popular artists since the early 1970s. On this year’s Orange Stage, Metallica headlined the festival, with performances from many other globally acclaimed artists, including Rihanna and Slipknot. Designed by veteran lighting designer Kasper Lange, the Orange Stage featured a vast amount of HARMAN Martin lighting fixtures for the Metallica set.
