Media rights deals ex-Europe for UEFA EURO 2012 and 2016 concluded

UEFA has announced that it has concluded a number of media rights deals for UEFA EURO 2012 and 2016 sales outside of Europe. These agreements reaffirm the UEFA European Football Championship as a compelling global property with significant interest and viewership outside of Europe. They further reflect UEFA’s continued long-term strategy to achieve the best possible media platform in individual markets by dealing directly with local broadcasters or, if and when appropriate, by using sports marketing agencies. The deals also include media rights for the 2011 and 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship as well as for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2013.

Germany's MDR Further Expands Chyron Portfolio

Chyron (NASDAQ: CHYR) announced that MDR, based in Leipzig, has expanded its already extensive Chyron portfolio. The German broadcaster, a long-standing Chyron advocate, has recently added three HyperX³ graphics systems and iRB to its current infrastructure, 15 HyperX graphics systems featuring iSQ and CAMIO, and Chyron's news graphics management solution. The systems, which provide graphics and branding for MDR's news bulletins, are installed in the broadcaster's state-of-the-art graphics center.

The German production company "Gruppe Weimar Filmproduktion" shot the 30-minute documentary "Fliegengewicht" ("Flyweight") for the German TV channel MDR (Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk). It is about a young ethnic German repatriate who has to face the reality of his new home, and how boxing plays a central role for him during this process. Director of Photography Urs Zimmermann chose the MiniPlus LED light from Litepanels, a Vitec Group brand, for principal illumination.
