Sony’s NAB 2013 press event put 4K acquisition front and center but it was the unveiling of two 4K consumer sets by Phil Molyneux, Sony Electronics, President and COO, that shows that interest in 4K distribution may actually be able to reach 4K viewers sooner than later. A 55-inch set was unveiled for $4,999 and a 65-inch set was unveiled for $6,999, a price point that is well below previous price points that were north of $20,000.
