Passion Conferences collegiate ministry held its annual gathering the first week of 2018, bringing together more than 32,000 students from 700 universities and 35 countries to three arenas. The conference, which has been active for over 20 years, consistently sets new standards for high-quality productions and this year was no exception. Formed in London in the late 1970s, Spandau Ballet are an English band, part of the ‘new wave’ of  UK pop inspired by the New Romantic movement, who became one of the most successful groups to emerge during this era. Their debut single "To Cut a Long Story Short", which reached No. 5 in the UK in 1980, was the first of ten UK Top 10 hits, including a No. 1 single "True", a No. 2 single "Gold", and two No. 3 singles: "Chant No. 1" and "Only When You Leave". The band split in 1990 and reunited in 2009.

Official technical supplier for the event [LITE]COM supplied the extensive package of Clay Paky, Robe, Philips and Aquabeam fixtures with partners AED Distribution and Woodlite. Working with Eurovision’s technical and creative teams, lighting designer Jönsson arranged the Scenius above the stage on straight truss. From here the fixtures worked with the Mythos, Sharpy and Sharpy Wash 330S to complement the ‘infinity’-style perspective of Frida Arvidsson and Viktor Brattström’s bold set design. NEP Swedens HD1 OBVan covered the event for EBU.
