Eurovision Services, the leading provider of media solutions for international sports federations, is  the host broadcaster and will manage the international signal distribution for the IBU Biathlon World Championships in Antholz-Anterselva, Italy, from 12-23 February 2020. Eurovision Services is once again showcasing its full-service expertise by providing the host broadcasting for this year’s biathlon world championships, distributing three international feeds to rightsholders in Europe, Asia and the Americas and providing dedicated services to several broadcasters.

One Polecam and one GF8 crane were added for extra dynamics, one Pico was embedded in the snow to get as close to the althletes as possible. Framerates were adjusted to every position to get the best compromise between timing and action.

BBG focuses on creating and maintaining broadcast addons for sport coverage, the most well-known of which is their ‘Hot Spot’, which revolutionised both the broadcast and umpiring of test cricket. BBG adds value to live sport in a way that enhances the viewer’s experience, so it’s important that their custom-developed video technology works in real-time with minimal delay.

When Spectra, the venue management and operator of the Iowa Events Center (Des Moines, Iowa), decided it was time to update the sound system in the Wells Fargo Arena, they opted to work with Daktronics on a design-build basis. The goal was to modernize the sound both within the arena – which serves as the region’s primary sports and entertainment venue – and for several ancillary areas outside the main space, including concourses, restaurant/bars, and interview rooms. The project was led by David Sturzenbecher, applications engineer in the Audio Systems division of Daktronics. The physical installation was managed by Daktronics Field Engineer Thijs Hammink.

Creative lighting artist / designer LeRoy Bennett utilised 91 x Robe BMFL WashBeam high powered moving lights – nine working in conjunction with RoboSpot remote operation systems – to help deliver a stunning Opening Ceremony (OC) complete with holographic projection effects, for the Riot Games’ 2019 League of Legends World Championship Finals, staged at the Accor Arena in Paris, France.

Every January, the world’s best cross-country skiers head to Saalbach Hinterglemm to tackle Austria’s biggest and toughest touring race. This year, 1,200 competitors from 24 countries took on the Mountain Attack challenge, a series of events including a marathon ‘vertical race’, with a course up and over three mountain summits across the Austrian Alps.

- Two-time winner Sainz had carved out a healthy 18m 10s lead over Qatari Al-Attiyah and 18m 26s over Frenchman Peterhansel, but his two main rivals have 10 Dakar titles between them and they made sure the inaugural Saudi Arabian edition goes down to the wire.

- Thirteen-time Dakar bike and car champion Peterhansel edged out Toyota driver Al-Attiyah by 10 seconds over the 744km stage 11 from Shubaytah to Haradh with Sainz 8m 3s behind Peterhansel in his MINI Buggy to set up a grandstand finish on Friday.
