Belgium based and international TV broadcast and OB truck provider Alfacam equipped five HD OB trucks that will be used for the FIFA Football World Cup 2010 with a comprehensive MediorNet installation from Riedel Communications. MediorNet is a fiber based real-time signal distribution and routing solution for HD/SD video, audio, intercom and data that also includes software based processing features.

With the football World Cup in South Africa, Alfacam takes up a new technological challenge and thus makes an important contribution to the largest broadcast project so far in the area of international football coverage. Alfacam will produce about 45% of all the matches as ‘world feed’ for HBS.

Vitec Group brands Sachtler and Vinten are collaborating with local distributor Telemedia to establish a full service facility in Johannesburg throughout the World Cup. The centre is being led by Christian Huber, sales and service support manager for Sachtler and Vinten.

UEFA has today announced that the hosts of the final tournament of the UEFA European Football Championship in 2016 will be France.
UEFA President Michel Platini announced the winner in front of representatives of the bidding organisations at the Espace Hippomène in Geneva, Switzerland.

On March 27th, 2010 the German heavyweight hope Steffen Kretschmann faced the Russian Denis Bakhtov at the Hamburg Sports Hall for a PABA championship fight. In addition "ran-boxing" offered additional highlights. A total of 13 fights were on the card. From 18.30 h the undercard fights were streamed live on ran.de.
