The biggest Transmission dance event to date – in terms of audience numbers AND Robe moving lights – was staged at Sydney Showground in Australia, where thousands of fans absorbed the great vibes and music of “The Awakening” plus some truly phenomenal visuals courtesy of lighting designer Bas Kemper and the Vision Impossible collective. Over 200 Robe moving lights - 78 x Pointes, 90 x MegaPointes, 10 x Spiiders, 20 x LEDBeam150s and 19 x BMFL Blades - on the rig ensured that this replicated the seminal moments of the ‘Awakening’ cycle which started in the O2 Arena in Transmission’s ‘home’ city of Prague, Czech Republic last October… and was another truly memorable visual extravaganza of epic proportions!

Every year, the Chinese national broadcaster CCTV (China Central Television) broadcasts coverage of China’s famous Spring Festival Gala, and this year’s show achieved approval ratings of 96.98%, making it one of the most popular Spring Festival Galas in recent years. Much of the program came from the main CCTV venue in Beijing, with additional content being broadcast from stages in Shenzhen, Jing Gang Shan and Changchun. The program featured a variety of exciting visual effects on stage, including augmented reality and animated graphics elements driven by the latest virtual studio solutions provided by Ross Video. In fact, Ross Video’s latest graphics rendering solution featured heavily across the coverage, with nine systems deployed across all four venues to help support this important cultural event in China.
Classical Spectacular, one of the UK’s most popular classical music showcase, returned to the Royal Albert Hall over the weekend to celebrate its 30th Anniversary at the venue, backed by an enormous production featuring an indoor firework display, rifles and cannons. Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Mexico 2019 took over Mexico City’s Autódromo Hermanos Rodriguez racetrack for two days of electronic dance music, multi-media art, and a charged carnival atmosphere. The flagship event for EDM-event promoters Insomniac, which takes place annually in Las Vegas as well as various other locations globally, drew over 120,000 participants and featured sets from many luminaries of the dance music scene including Alesso, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Kaskade, and Paul Van Dyk. In addition to its record-breaking attendance and stacked artist lineup, the festival also marked its fourth year of collaboration with Calgary, Alberta-based sound system manufacturer PK Sound, which provided the immense deployment for the kineticFIELD main stage.
