At the IBC 2013 Zixi™ LLC announced a new partnership with JVC Americas Corp that lights the way to a new, mobile, highly-integrated, IP-network based future for professional video cameras. The partnership will focus on rapidly integrating cloud-based networking features into JVC ProHD cameras.

Bridge Technologies today announced that it has delivered forty VB120 probes to Ziggo, the largest cable operator in the Netherlands, in pursuit of a frame upgrade initiative being undertaken by the cable network provider. The installation was completed by Bridge Technologies’ Business Partner, Burst Video. The VB120 broadcast probe offers a cost-effective and powerful monitoring solution, covering IP unicasts and multicasts, OTT/ABR streams as well as a whole range of RF formats. Offering maximum reliability and minimum maintenance, the VB120 consumes less than 12W of power, thereby reducing power consumption and air conditioning needs.

Ziggo Sport, part of the Liberty Media Group and the pre-eminent sports rights holder in the Netherlands, including Premier League football and Formula One, chose NEP The Netherlands to provide their live production and playout facilities after a successful tender process.

Serving Hangzhou City/Zhejiang Province in Eastern China, Zhejiang TV ranks high among China’s leading broadcasters and innovators. Established in 1960, it has pioneered the adoption of new technologies – including refurbishing its Concert Hall into a multi-function theatre and HDTV television studio using a Lawo mc²66 digital audio console.

The new Zhejiang International Film and Television Center building houses studios and production facilities and several departments responsible for online and new media operations.  Operational staff spread over several floors in the building need instant access to broadcast equipment and systems located several tens or hundreds of meters away in another part of the building.

In Hangzhou, capital of China's Zhejiang province, a popular Concert Hall has been given a new identity after an extensive refurbishment by its owners, the Zhejiang Radio and Television Group. Built in the 1990s as a music hall, the venue has been transformed into a multi-function theatre and television studio with HDTV production capability, thanks to the installation of a Lawo mc²66 digital audio console, the first in East China.

Having relied on HARMAN’s Soundcraft mixing consoles for more than a decade, Zhaoqing Radio in the Chinese province of Guangdong recently added two HARMAN Studer OnAir 2500 Modulo mixing consoles. The consoles were acquired from local HARMAN distributor ACE, and were installed in the two live studios that broadcast music and traffic information on the local radio.

This new addition enhances production efficiency for the company in two ways: by making it easy to connect directly to other production systems in use at the event; and by providing comprehensive and easy to use functionality ensuring everyone who needs it, has the right communication tools for the job in hand.

The acquisition expands Zest4.TV’s facilities from its traditional multi-camera flypack solutions to full outside broadcast facilities, with the addition of an 8-camera Mercedes Vario truck with full HD engineering and audio capabilities.

Hong Kong-based Widelite Technology Limited has installed Zero 88 FLX range lighting control consoles and Chilli dimmers in over 30 schools – to date – for the government’s Education Bureau (EDB) department which is tasked with overseeing state-wide education and learning.

Projects Department Ltd (PDL) specified and installed two Zero 88 FLX lighting control consoles, four SCD Servers and a ZerOS Wing for YouTube’s Space London facility in the lively Kings Cross area of the UK’s capital. Projects Department, led by Peter Daffern, is an independent company specialising in a wide range of technical services for assorted entertainment lighting industry sectors including broadcast, and is well known for its adaptable and lateral thinking approach. The three main studios at Space London are available for YouTube’s top creators and influencers – those with 10,000+ subscribers to their channels – to use for content creation and other related endeavours, offering a vibrant community, an imaginative workspace and well-equipped environment to encourage the production of more high-quality material.
