The “Big Gig” turns to DiGiCo for a fifth consecutive year as the exclusive provider of audio consoles, including the festival’s inaugural deployment of 4REA4 on three of its largest stages
 

Blackmagic Design today announced that its URSA Mini Pro 4.6K digital film cameras and ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K were used as part of a live production workflow by The LED Shed on the UK and Ireland legs of Westlife’s The Twenty Tour. 

This all led to the purchase of 86 x Spiider LED wash beams, 76 x MegaPointes and three RoboSpot systems complete with the BMFL FollowSpot LT (long throw) fixture with integral camera, which has been especially designed for large arenas and stadiums. These are the first of these special BMFL FollowSpots in the UAE!

Litepanels' Gemini 2x1 Soft RGBWW and Astra 1x1 Bi-Color LED panels are lighting up the action for the popular "Dan Patrick Show," a syndicated radio and TV sports talk show hosted by former ESPN personality Dan Patrick. Produced by the AT&T Entertainment Group, "Dan Patrick Show" has installed 30 Gemini 2x1 Soft and 30 Astra 1x1 Bi-Color LED panels to light its new showpiece 20,000-square-foot production facility.

In late May and early June, Dutch superstar Marco Borsato became the first artist to play five sold-out stadium shows at De Kuip, home of Feyenoord Rotterdam football club. A Yamaha RIVAGE PM7 digital mixing system helped ensure that Marco, his band and an array of guest vocalists gave a quarter of a million fans an unforgettable experience.
 

Flamboyant ‘90s pop icons the Spice Girls’ 13-date summer stadium tour, Spice World – 2019 Tour, kicked off at Croke Park Dublin in May to culminate in June at Wembley Stadium (where else!), transforming 1990s nostalgia into 21^st century excitement as they went.

Mainstage artists at the 2019 Ghent Jazz Festival were illuminated by 86 Robe moving lights – including 35 brand-new T1s – in a slick production lighting design created by Bart Weyts of L&L Stage Services, the company providing technical production - lightning, audio and video - for that stage.

Sony's new Virtual Production system relies on processing in Amazon’s AWS and on there being enough consistent bandwidth to get the streams from remote site to an operations hub, but it points the way forward. Since the only physical kit required are the cameras, it alters the business model for outside broadcasts too since a producer need pay on demand rather than invest in kit.
