At NAB 2014 Snell announced its dynamic pan-and-scan technology, a new feature that will help optimize consumers’ viewing experience and support the transition to 4K capture for broadcast and video production organizations. The technology will be part of the Snell Kahuna360 production switcher demo taking place on Booth N1820, alongside the groundbreaking new Kahuna Maverik switcher control surface that makes its US debut.

Snell announced that the company's routing, control, and monitoring technology is at the core of The Post Group's new state-of-the-art production facility. Located in Hollywood, the Snell equipment is providing consolidated operations for The Post Group as well as its sister companies, Lightning Media and iO Film. Driven by the Snell control and monitoring system, Snell Sirius and Cygnus routers form the comprehensive signal routing and control infrastructure for the new facility.

At the 2012 NAB Show, Snell will debut KudosPro, a next-generation image-processing platform that delivers high-quality image-processing capabilities in a compact, affordable, format-flexible package. The platform will be available for as little as $3,299, making it a realistic option for broadcasters, news agencies, and content providers needing to consider cost and space issues while also ensuring high-quality content to domestic and international audiences.

Snell announced that the Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) has chosen Snell's Morpheus playout automation, ICE channel-in-a-box, Sirius 128 x 128 router, and Hyperion monitoring system to drive its new digital broadcast infrastructure. As one of New York City's leading public access networks, MNN currently broadcasts four channels of content that reach more than 600,000 cable subscribers.

Snell today announced that it has added an exclusive TV Everywhere demonstration to its lineup of featured solutions in booth N1820 at the 2013 NAB Show. The demo integrates Snell's Momentum media workflow automation system, Morpheus playout automation system, and ICE channel-in-a-box solution. Working together, the Snell products showcase a live end-to-end broadcast workflow that ingests recorded content from a tablet device and sends it to the cloud, where it can be easily accessed for transcoding and playout.

At NAB 2014, from April 7-10 in Las Vegas, Snell will be showcasing new innovations across its Live TV and TV Everywhere divisions. This will include the first application for the Snell On Demand platform and new features for key products.

In a bold move designed to facilitate the transition to fully progressive workflows, Snell announced today that it will now offer 1080p functionality at no additional charge for all 1080p-capable products, thereby bringing down one of the most significant barriers to the adoption of 3Gbps equipment: extra cost.

Snell announced that it will supply 21 Alchemist Ph.C-HD and 19 Mach HD motion compensated HD standards converters to NBC Olympics, a division of the NBC Sports Group, for its production of the 2012 London Olympic Games from London, England, July 27 – Aug. 12, 2012.
