Support Partners joins the Digital Production Partnership

Recognition that DPP is leading the way in interoperability

Support Partners, the leading media consultancy dedicated to creating business change through the smart use of technology, has joined the Digital Production Partnership (DPP), the media industry’s international business network. Originally founded by UK broadcasters, the DPP now has an international reputation for driving forward practical, workable specifications which help the entire supply chain work together more effectively.

Support Partners helps its extensive range of global clients to adapt and thrive, through the use of disruptive technologies. Its aim is to transform the way businesses create, manage and distribute media. In a file-based and increasingly cloud-centric ecosystem, the use of well-considered, widely-recognised standards is critical.

The DPP worked with SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) to develop a specification for a new version of the Interoperable Master Format (IMF), specifically for broadcast and online, earlier this year.

Harry Grinling, Support Partners’ CEO, pointed to the recent work on IMF as particularly important. “We see the work that DPP has done in defining an IMF specification as a vital next step for media production organisations. IMF – for the advertising agencies, brands and the broadcasters that are our clients – will help streamline storage management and distribution.

“Being a part of the DPP allows us to be involved in discussions that define how this technology will be further developed and used,” he added.

Support Partners work with global, multi-site operations that distribute media around the world providing them technical solutions, process and change management advice and operational support.
