Adlib Invests In Sennheiser Digital 6000

“We’re getting increasingly busy and we’re finding that there’s a lot of demand for radio equipment to tour around Europe” says Adlib Director Dave Kay. “We wanted to invest in the newest technology to give us more flexibility on spectrum usage. We’ve used Digital 6000 for the past couple of years on events such as Capital Radio’s Summertime and Jingle Bell Ball where it has worked flawlessly. We’re starting to see some of our clients that would have previously used 5000 series want to move onto a digital alternative, so we needed it to service them. This is how we see the future and Digital 6000 sounds great, too.”

Digital 6000 is easy to use and is more efficient in its use of frequency space, a significant advantage in today’s crowded RF environment. It is intermodulation free and features two Dante™ sockets for redundant networks or daisy chain cabling. It is also compatible with many existing Sennheiser capsule and antenna options.
“The good thing about Digital 6000 is that it’s in a very similar, two channel package, to our existing Sennheiser microphones, so it drops into our inventory very easily,” Dave adds. “And because it can take any of our 2000 Series capsules, we don’t have to completely refresh our capsule inventory at the same time.”

Adlib has already taken part in Sennheiser’s training and product awareness days and, says Dave, has a great relationship with the manufacturer.

“We’ve also been working on getting the RF information displayed on the Soundcraft Vi range of consoles as well, so the Digital 6000 Series RF and battery info pops up on the console worksurface,” he concludes. “Having it integrated in that way is a big help, as you no longer need an additional laptop to tell you what’s happening. You can even control the receiver gain from the desk”
As part of Adlib’s radio investment, they have also purchased a further 32 channels of Sennheiser 2000 Series IEMs in different ranges to future proof their inventory after the 700MHz clearance.
