IP: are we ready for it - and it for us?

Key IP collaborative groups present their vision and roadmaps at free IABM member event on 14th October 2016 at Pinewood, UK

Following the huge impact of the joint IABM/AIMS IP interoperability zone at IBC last month, IABM is taking the discussion another step forward at an IABM UK Council event on 14th October 2016 at Pinewood.

Entitled ‘IP: are we ready for it – and it for us?’, the event will feature presentations from, and discussions with and between, representatives of AIMS, AMWA, ASPEN and Sony’s NMI. The event will be jointly chaired by John Ive, IABM Director of Technology and Strategic Insight, and Stan Moote, IABM Chief Technology Officer.

The event offers IABM members and end-users from broadcast and media organisations an excellent opportunity to further understand the potential that real collaboration over IP standards and interoperability can offer and to examine where we are today; are we still held back by uncertainty? What is the true position on IP interoperability? There is huge pressure on end-users and suppliers alike to move to a fully integrated IP digital workflow and to collaborate to work through the current barriers to achieving this.

Panelists so far confirmed include:
·    Andreas Hilmer, Director of Marketing & Communications, Lawo - Board Director of AIMS
·    Peter Brightwell of BBC R&D, representing AMWA
·    Simon Reed, Managing Director, Evertz UK, representing ASPEN
·    Hiroshi Yamauchi, Senior Manager New Technologies & Business Development, Sony Professional Solutions Europe, representing NMI

“IP interoperability and collaboration was very much center-stage at IBC last month,” said Stan Moote. “This event offers IABM members a great opportunity to hear how things are moving forward in a more measured environment away from the throng of the exhibition floor. I look forward to an enlightening - and lively! – discussion.”
The event is free to attend for IABM members as well as end-users, and there will be a networking opportunity over refreshments following the formal session. Book your place here.
