Ready for the next chapter of KVM: G&D hits the ground running at InfoComm 2021

KVM manufacturer presents new high-end product line and other highlights

This fall, KVM manufacturer Guntermann & Drunck GmbH (G&D) will be presenting the best of the KVM world at InfoComm in Orlando, FL. Under the motto "feels right", the company will not only showcase many new products at booth 2761, but also a completely new look and a new communication concept.

It seemed like an eternity that public life, events and the entertainment industry were standing still. “With trade shows and other events back on track as well as open sports venues, we’re ready to write the next chapter of KVM,” explains Don Hosmer, VP Sales Americas & General Manager of G&D North America. "We’ll be returning with many highlights and have used the time to develop even better KVM systems. Now that public life and business are hit the ground running again, we've generated even more benefits for our customers and partners by making our systems even more user-friendly," says Hosmer.

Just feels right
With a fresh look, a new website and a new communication concept titled "feels right”, the KVM manufacturer presents even more personality at eye level, is closer to customers and even more high-tech on the path of its digital transformation. "Choosing G&D feels right in every way, and that's what we want our new communication concept to convey," says Don Hosmer. Whether it is the products’ functionality, quality, and reliability, the contact with employees, or the follow-up service – when it comes to KVM systems, G&D is the No. 1 choice in every respect.

A true milestone
On the product side, G&D has plenty to show at InfoComm 2021. With the "VisionXS" series, the company has introduced a true KVM milestone to the market. The high-end extender product line includes a range of high-performance KVM extenders with resolutions of up to 4K and 10G data transfer technology for an even better user experience and. Following the motto "smaller, more compact, more powerful", the KVM manufacturer developed a new compact multi-purpose KVM tool.  The main idea was to put as much functions as possible in the smallest possible housing. Thus, the new VisionXS saves more space than any comparable devices. And despite its size, it comes with even better performance and video quality.

VisionXS – the highlight of the trade show
The first release of the new line is the new VisionXS-IP-DP-UHR, a high-end system for DisplayPort UHR. Devices for HDMI and DVI-I will follow later. Initially, the German manufacturer will provide extender modules for KVM-over-IP, followed by solutions for classic KVM systems for direct transmission. VisionXS devices can either be operated in pairs as an extender line, or they can also be integrated into matrix installations. Since they are fully compatible with G&D’s IP KVM matrix systems, applications become highly flexible. Planning KVM installations and expanding them at a later date couldn’t be easier since users will continue to have one hardware for everything. Like any other G&D product, the new devices are fully compatible with existing models. The extensive combinability of the KVM systems helps design solutions that are suitable for all applications.

Cloud and virtualisation: Hybrid structures perfectly under control

Hybrid structures and accessing computers in the cloud
With the RemoteAccess-CPU, G&D is hitting the nerve of the times by supporting cloud computing and virtualisation processes in companies in order to enable hybrid infrastructures. The product makes it possible to seamlessly integrate virtual machines into KVM installations. The new modules establish a connection between matrix systems and virtual machines, which can be accessed remotely via network protocols. This way, it is easy to perfectly integrate hybrid systems with both a real and a virtual computer infrastructure.

The RemoteAccess-CPU gives users a convenient solution with high integrity. They simply select the desired source from a standardised select menu (target list) on the on-screen display – regardless of whether the computer is available in the server room, via network protocol or in the cloud. With its integrated thin client functionality, the RemoteAccess-CPU offers users a highly integrative connection setup.

Supporting Remote Working
The pandemic currently shows us the importance of being able to access in-house systems remotely. How do team members remotely access a KVM system and the underlying on-site computing landscape from home? G&D‘s solution for this issue is called RemoteAccess-GATE. This stand-alone device links the KVM system to the network world, providing remote access to the IT infrastructure connected to the KVM system via LAN, WAN and the Internet. G&D's RemoteAccess-GATE supports working remotely from home offices and improves the collaboration within teams. Thus, the RemoteAccess-GATE opens up completely new ways for operation from remote locations and also improves the ways of providing IT support and collaboration between employees.

Added value for customers and partners
Visitors will finally again be able to see and experience this and much more live at InfoComm booth 2761. And by the way: Anyone who will not be able to experience G&D’s systems live at the trade show can book a live remote presentation at G&D’s ControlCenter-Xperience (CCX). The CCX is a control room used to present new features and products live or remotely. This way, personal consulting can still take place in times of COVID and beyond. In this way, the company can continue to offer customers and partners live consulting, demonstrate how various systems and technologies interact, and show its product portfolio, regardless of time and place. G&D’s customers will not only benefit from the KVM experts’ know-how, but can also book individual live or remote tours fitting their projects.
