Ikegami Electronics (Europe) announces a major addition to its range of broadcast production cameras. Introduced at the April 2022 NAB Show in Las Vegas and now confirmed for the EAME market, the UHK-X750 is a full studio/OB camera optimised for fixed-mount operation on a pedestal or tripod. Integrated into a robust metal housing designed to ensure extreme ruggedness, it includes high frame-rate capture for slow motion applications, global shutter sensors and versatile connectivity.

"The UHK-X750 is intended for production studios and outside broadcast service providers seeking high mastering quality to maximise the commercial longevity of their productions," comments Ikegami Electronics (Europe) Broadcast & Professional Video Division manager Michael Lätzsch. "It offers all the advanced capabilities of Ikegami's flagship Unicam UHK-X700 except for those that apply to portable shoulder operation. Distinguishing elements of the UHK-X750 include a lower centre-of-gravity and easier staging compared to a portable camera. The new model delivers the optimum weight balance for operation in combination with a large lens. It also features a greater design emphasis on ease of service and cool operation. The camera's low body height brings the accompanying VFL-701D viewfinder closer to the optical axis of the camera."

Incorporated into the optical front end of the UHK-X750 are three 2/3-inch CMOS UHD sensors with a global shutter to minimise artifacts when shooting LED screens or scenes illuminated with flash or strobe lighting. Full HDR/SDR support is included plus the ability to choose between BT.2020 and BT.709 colour spaces. High-frame-rate shooting at up to 2x speed in UHD or up to 8x in HD via the base station is possible as an option. Five neutral density filters (clear through to 1/64) and four chroma filters (3200, 4300, 6300 and cross) are included plus provision for an optional optical low-pass-filter to eliminate moiré effects when televising subjects such as LED video walls.

When combined with the Ikegami BSX-100 base station or CCU-X100, the UHK-X750 supports simultaneous output in UHD and HD video formats. IP interface of video, audio, and intercom inputs and outputs conforming to SMPTE.2110 and NMOS standards is available as an option at the base station or CCU.

Weighing 19 kg and measuring 315 x 329 x 398 mm WHD, the UHK-X750 is equipped for use with full studio/OB size box lenses mount and has an optical sensitivity of F11 when operating at UHD/50p. Specified noise level is -62 dB.
