Facilis Technology Disrupts Value and Performance Standards at BVE2016
In a strategically important move, Facilis will showcase new SSD (Solid State Drive) technology, which it has incorporated in various ways within its flagship TerraBlock system. The company reports that amongst other advantages, the integration of SSD technology significantly increases the available shared bandwidth for heavy 4K production workflows.
In another key move for Facilis within the competitive media production storage market, it has announced a strategic initiative aimed at driving down the cost of scaling capacity, thereby making TerraBlock accessible to the broadest range of broadcast and corporate users.
“2016 will be a milestone year in the development of Facilis products,” comments the company’s VP of Marketing and Pre Sales, James McKenna. “From workflow-enabling technology advancements and system performance to cost of ownership, you’ll see significant movement and progression at Facilis. At BVE, visitors will find a company that is positioned as the very best, most progressive and cost-effective partner for its customers.”
Facilis is also expanding with new vendors for its products and systems. “There is no point in having great products if you can’t get them in front of the right audience,” explains McKenna. “Throughout 2016, we are focussed on evolving and investing in our reseller network. BVE is a perfect venue to meet new partners in the dynamic EMEA region.”
Also showing at BVE will be the first shipping version of the Facilis FastTracker, a new application designed for cataloging, searching and viewing many media types within Facilis Shared Storage, including all major QuickTime, MP4 and MXF codecs, along with DPX and TARGA image sequences, to name a few. This easy-to-use system includes custom metadata tagging, catalog user permissions, “Boolean” search capability and incremental indexing functionality. FastTracker is the fastest way to find, view, and access media in your project.
