Launched at NAB 2016, Omnitek’s new Ultra XR Advanced 4K/UHD Waveform Analyser has been designed for colourists, post-production editors, and other content creatives working with Ultra high-resolution UHD images in all SDI and HDMI formats.
The Ultra XR provides all the traditional tools needed to work with DI - high-resolution waveform display, vectorscope, CIE chart - but is engineered specifically with 4K/UHD in mind. Supporting 12-bit 4:4:4 SDI input formats in YCbCr and RGB, the XR also supports the emerging standards for Wide Colour Gamut RGB - ITU-R BT.2020 and High Dynamic Range (HDR) inputs - ST2084 / PQ and Hybrid Log Gamma.

The XR complements the already established Ultra 4K Tool Box, both of which feature support for an impressive array of delivery methods and video formats, covering SD-SDI to 12G-SDI, HDMI and DisplayPort. The Ultra 4K Tool Box was created to allow manufacturers, designers, researchers, broadcasters and systems integrators to build, test and commission 4K products and systems with complete confidence, and was the first test & measurement solution into the market with full support for 12G-SDI. The features of the 4K Tool Box include 12G Eye & Jitter and the ability to both capture and play-back full-raster video in all supported video standards.
Omnitek’s final offering at the show will be the Picture Quality Analysis facilities of the 3G-capable OTM1000 and OTR1001 waveform analysers.
Rob Arnold, Vice President of Worldwide Sales said “We see test and measurement equipment as a vital element of the production landscape and with 4K/UHD here to stay there is a lot of interest in how to support, manufacture, test, integrate and operate this new technology at Broadcast Asia”.
Omnitek will demonstrating the Ultra XR, Ultra 4K Tool Box, OTM and OTR on the Techtel stand 5J3-03.
