Telenet uncovers new mobile app for complete sport experience powered by deltatre and Microsoft

The project sees deltatre providing the design, technology and delivery of both the App and website

Telenet enhances its mobile coverage of sporting events by releasing a new multisport App - and compliant desktop website - as a result of a double alliance with digital sports market-leader deltatre and tech giant Microsoft.

With the growing role of digital and mobile consumption as complementary to standard TV viewing, the Belgium-headquartered Telenet Group - the largest provider of cable broadband service in the European country - has decided to branch out into the world of digital sports with the support of market-leading specialists deltatre and Microsoft.

Today Telenet has unveiled to the public its multiplatform solution designed for all sport enthusiasts, consisting of the group’s first-ever sport-specific App (Android and iOS) and a corresponding website. The solution will accompany the Belgian provider’s sport broadcast coverage of all disciplines (including football, hockey, cyclocross, volley-ball golf, Formula 1 and more) across nine 24/7 channels throughout the year.

The project sees deltatre providing the design, technology and delivery of both the App and website, which will act as a pivotal hub to immerse and connect Telenet’s audiences with exclusive-access to live content, editorial highlights, in-depth stats and analysis, interactive social media commentary and other customizable options. Notably included in the digital mix are deltatre’s Diva sports video-player and Forge sport’s content management system delivering immersive digital sports stories.

deltatre’s long-term partner Microsoft plays a core role in the project and combines its business cloud platform, Microsoft Azure, with deltatre’s high quality video and data delivery capabilities to help Telenet bring top-quality sporting events coverage to fans across multiple platforms and devices.
