HBS Appointed Production Partner of the 28th SEA Games

The Singapore National Stadium will host the Opening Ceremony of the 28th SEA Games on 5 June

HBS are pleased to announce their participation in the 28th SEA Games as the partner of MediaCorp who, as the 28th SEA Games Main Sponsor, is also the Host Broadcaster and Media Partner.

The Games, which will take place in Singapore from 5 June to 16 June, will see a return to Asia for HBS – who have a long track-record of success in the region dating back to the host broadcast of the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan™.

Since then the company has worked on several major events in Asia as part of IGBS, the 50-50 joint venture with IMG, including the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006, 16th Asian Games Guangzhou 2010, 17th Asian Games Incheon 2014 and the 7th Asian Winter Games Astana-Almaty 2011.

The International Broadcast Centre (IBC), located within walking distance of the Sports Hub main cluster of event venues, will also come under HBS' remit. The installation will house the unilateral space for Rights Holding Broadcasters (RHBs) of the Games, tailored to RHBs' needs and constructed by HBS, as well as the Contribution, Distribution and Transmission Control Room (CDT), the technical hub of all incoming and outgoing feeds, and a Satellite Farm for transmission of unilateral content to RHBs' home countries.

Events will be covered live, or with extended highlights, at selected competition venues and unilateral venue services will be available and managed by HBS at those locations. Broadcast Venue Managers (BVMs) will handle all broadcast activities at venues, multilateral and unilateral, while access to bookable services such as stand-up and mixed zone positions and unilateral camera positions will be managed by experienced HBS venue staff.
