Powersoft Drives EAW Line Arrays at the Fairy Mountains Music Festival
EAW KF series line arrays were chosen to fulfill the PA requirements, powered by Powersoft K series Class D amplifiers. Sixteen EAW KF760 and eight EAW KF740 3-way full range line array modules were hung at the both sides of the stage, eight KF760s and four KF740s per side, for far- and near-field coverage. Two EAW UX8800 DSPs were integrated to optimise the acoustic performances of the loudspeaker systems.
Rental staging company Chongqing Stagecraft Sound & Light Co., Ltd. was responsible for the technical side of the festival. They used a total of 18 Powersoft power amplifiers bought from Sanecore, Powersoft’s official distributor in China.
The Powersoft armoury consisted of 12 x K3 amps and six K10 amps, which were not only able to provide sufficient power to the loudspeaker systems, but were also able to make an intelligent management of the power supply.
FOH engineer, Hu Dayi commented: “These compact rack-unit amplifiers from Powersoft offer an amazing amount of power. More than 85% high efficiency results in more amplifier output power. These amps feature unequalled Class D design with fixed switching mode, so they can work at very low load impedance, and bring great, natural and crystal clear sound. ”
Mr. Huang Daosheng, General Manager of Wulong KARST Group, which co-hosted the grand event, also spoke highly of the production values:”The sound system for this festival was so amazing! We have served up an incredible music feast to all the audience here.”
