Telecast Products on Display at the 2011 NAB Show

At the 2011 NAB Show, Telecast will show the CopperHead 3050, specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of ENG

"Telecast products are designed to enable convenient, reliable delivery of quality signals without compromise, and the systems we're showcasing at the 2011 NAB Show add more robust functionality, higher density, and even greater control and flexibility at an attractive price point. These fiber optic systems not only reduce the cost and complexity of HD production, but also increase operators' signal transmission capability." — Steve DeFrancesco, vice president and general manager at Telecast Fiber Systems.

T-POV Robotic Links — Next-Generation Point-of-View Links

Originally launched at IBC2010 and now being shown for the first time at NAB, Telecast's new family of fiber optic links for robotic cameras delivers the established functionality of the company's original "HD/POV" solutions, plus the option of Ethernet control, enclosed in small ruggedized housings at a new lower price.

CopperHead™ 3000 Series — Camera-Mounted Fiber Optic Transceivers

The CopperHead™ 3000 Series is the newest addition to Telecast Fiber Systems' patented CopperHead family of camera-mountable fiber optic transceivers, providing a single fiber optic link between any professional camera or camcorder and the broadcaster's truck, control room, or "video village" position. The CopperHead 3000 Series can handle all vital camera signals and can be configured for specific applications such as ENG or multi-camera use.

At the 2011 NAB Show, Telecast will show the CopperHead 3050, specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of electronic news gathering (ENG) and satellite news gathering (SNG), and the CopperHead 3200, which offers an affordable yet powerful multi-camera solution for a range of HD broadcasting applications. Both systems deliver uncompressed HD video and simultaneously transport bidirectional digital (SDI or HD/SDI) and analog (NTSC or PAL) video, as well as all two-way camera control, audio, video, data, sync, tally/call, prompter, and intercom signals between the camera and the base station. The new CopperHead 3400 pulls double-duty as the new standard fiber link for top-quality 3D production, as well as for live high-speed HD sports coverage. The system multiplexes four HD/SDI signals, as well as camera control, return video, intercom, and all of the other signals required for 3D rigs and/or Phantom-style high-speed camera systems. The CopperHead Pro is specifically designed for HD image magnification (I-MAG) applications in houses of worship, music venues, and corporate events. The CopperHead Pro offers a versatile and affordable solution that leverages the light weight, high reliability, and superior quality of fiber cable for projecting high-quality HD images.

TelePort™ 3G — Multichannel CWDM Management System

The new TelePort™ 3G CWDM (coarse wavelength division multiplexing) wavelength manager provides easy high-bandwidth multiplexing for as many as 16 digital fiber optic devices on just one single-mode fiber. The TelePort 3G also eliminates the need for wavelength-specific spares, as any transport device in the 1300-nm and 1550-nm wavelength windows can be plugged into any channel of the unit.

TeleThon 3G — Multichannel Wavelength Manager and HD/SDI Transport

The new TeleThon 3G optical and electrical multiplexer system is a hybrid device featuring the CWDM (coarse wavelength division multiplexing) wavelength management functionality of the company's TelePort™ 3G system with the dense digital signal capacity of the Python3G™ digital video transceiver system.

The TeleThon unit accepts electrical digital signals, ranging from 19.4Mb/s to 1.5Gb/s uncompressed HD/SDI and optical signals of up to 2.5Gb/s each, and multiplexes them for transmission in either or both directions. Up to 16 optical signals can be accommodated on one fiber, significantly increasing fiber capacity. The CWDM capability of the TeleThon system simplifies and multiplies the effectiveness of fiber optic cables, reducing operator costs and improving overall signal transmission capacity.
