HISTORY
Originally part of the Philips Broadcast Television systems group, then changed over time to Philips BTS, Philips Digital Video Systems and then part of the French Thomson Multimedia group, D&MS became an independent company on July 1st 2002. D&MS designs and delivers high quality OB vans, DSNG vehicles, radio and television studios, archive systems, board rooms and cinema theatres. D&MS works with local partners and customers to provide the optimum combination of central expertise and local support.

SCALE OF OPERATION
Located in The Netherlands, the D&MS OB van facilities includes over 4500m2 of production floor space. In addition to 3 or 4 large OB vans typically being built at any one time, equally large expanding side vehicles forother industry sectors, DSNG vehicles and many other high quality specialist vehicles are constantly being built. This large scale operation ensures that D&MS remains focused on the craft of designing optimum mobile operational environments, with continuous and up-to-date OB van expertise and experience.

CENTRAL EXPERTISE
D&MS have all the teams in one building for the design, build and testing of OB vans. This includes coach design and build, hydraulics, operational furniture, electrical, lighting, aircon, and broadcast systems integration specialists. The furniture in each is custom built by a part of the company that has been building quality furniture for over 200 years. The D&MS broadcast systems integration team delivers some of the most technically advanced OB vans in the world, offering consultancy, design, commissioning, training and support services.

LOCAL SUPPORT
With the D&MS local partner you can discuss your OB van easily and in your own language. They can make the first assessment of your requirement and contact the D&MS team to get a prompt and accurate response. This can be for the design of a new OB van, or modifications or upgrade to an existing OB van. With all the OB van build expertise in one central place there is no confusion or complexity over whose responsibility it is to respond, resolve an issue or make a change. D&MS takes responsibility and ensure requests are addressed and actions taken promptly.

With 7 highly experienced project managers and a dedicated quality assurance manager working to ISO 9001:2008, D&MS ensures that their client’s OB vans are consistently delivered to the highest quality. D&MS combines extensive experience in the delivery of OB van operational environments with the latest broadcast technology, to produce highly reliable, state-of-the-art broadcast solutions.

FAST DELIVERY
D&MS is able to remove most of the contingency time that prime contractors put in their timescales for delays caused by the use of subcontractors. D&MS project management of all in-house resources, tasks and processes that would otherwise be sequential can more easily overlap. This saves significant time and cost in the OB van build, while still ensuring the highest quality integration is achieved.
