“The main changes for us compared to four years ago will be an increase in our production,” explained Chief Engineer Branislav Radivijevic. “For the first time we will be using the FIFA Max Server and SmartJog for distributing our content.” SmartJog offers MRLs content management, delivery and integration services over a fully managed distribution and file transfer platform for secure, fast and reliable digital delivery. “SmartJog can give us a great advantage,” continued Branislav. “If our satellite line is in use for some other purpose we have another way to send content back to Serbia. It is the first time we will use it but we did some training back in Belgrade and have done some more here before the tournament starts. I think it will be good for us.”
With 25 staff in South Africa, RTS will broadcast all 64 games and have the online rights for match action. As a radio and TV broadcaster they will also cover all Serbia’s games for their radio channel, as well as other key games of interest. While this event will not be broadcast in HD, several games will be put out on their HD transmitter for testing purposes.
