With Audi showing off its brand-new electric car eTron and Vattenfall showcasing its electric snowmobile, sustainability is a big deal at the Åre 2019 World Ski Championships.
So, it was natural for the Åre 2019 local organizing committee to wonder what it could also do to further promote and encourage sustainable mobility.
“What about ourselves, how do we get around?,” said Patrik Svärd, sponsor manager for Åre 2019. “There will be a lot of people in the village and a lot of traffic. Someone said why not go with e-bikes. So we looked into it.”

RAWBIKE provided Åre 2019 with a number of e-bikes. Some were provided to the officials of the International Ski Federation (FIS) and a number to the staff of the went to the LOC.
I’ve only been riding it for five days,” Patrik said. “Honestly, it’s the best way to move around in the village. This is so easy to take around. You can park it with no problem. It’s all electric and it’s really easy to use.”
Patrik added that he has received a lot comments from people when he is out and about on his RAWBIKE.
“People are curious,” he added. “Everybody thinks the bikes look cool and they are impressed that it is electric. It has a nice look and feel to it that catches the eye.”
Patrik said the bike can be charged overnight and can be ridden all day long. Best of all, he noted that almost anyone can ride a RAWBIKE.
