HBS and Mediacorp Celebrate 28th SEA Games Partnership

HBS CEO Francis Tellier and MediaCorp Deputy CEO Chang Long Jong acknowledged the companies partnership for the 28th SEA Games

MediaCorp, Host Broadcaster of the 28th SEA Games, and HBS, Host Broadcast production partner, held an official contract signing ceremony at the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) to publicly formalise their partnership for the event.

MediaCorp Deputy CEO Chang Long Jong and HBS CEO Francis Tellier put their signatures to the contract in front of the screens of the Contribution, Distribution and Transmission Room (CDT) after making a joint inspection of the IBC facility.

Accompanied by Mike Wilmot, IGBS Project Director (Production) – who guided the touring party through the production areas at the IBC that will become the hub of broadcast operations for the event – the MediaCorp and HBS delegations visited the multilateral spaces as well as visiting the unilateral areas from where Rights Holding Broadcasters (RHBs) will operate.

The HB operation will provide live coverage, or extended highlights, of 12 sports with bookable services offered to RHBs at nine competition venues and at the IBC. The remaining sports will be covered by ENG coverage.

“I’m delighted to be able to support MediaCorp in their mission as Host Broadcaster, this partnership will allow audiences to see a best ever coverage of the SEA Games,” stated Francis Tellier. “We expect Singapore to set a new benchmark for future editions of the event to aspire to.”

The first transmission of the events (football and table tennis) took place on Friday 29 May, while the Opening Ceremony of the Games occurs today on Friday 5 June.
