Football team Galatasaray Istanbul's new Tuerk Telekom Arena

Connections, with over 113,000 metres of high-quality KLOTZ cables

The friendly game between football teams Galatasaray Istanbul and Ajax Amsterdam on 15 January 2011 was the opening match of the Istanbul club's new football stadium, and not even the 0:0 result could dampen the celebrations. Completed after three years of construction, the new "Tuerk Telekom Arena“ holds 52,500 spectators and is Turkey's most modern football stadium. Its technological highlights include a mobile extendable roof scheduled for completion in 2012. KLOTZ Cables was involved in the entire preparations and planning for this major project from the outset via its Turkish project partners SF SES Ve Isil Sistemleri Ltd. and ASIMETRIK SES Isik Ve Goruntu Sistemleri Ltd.

A total of 113,000 metres of KLOTZ cables were laid and installed in the second half of 2010, including audio, video, microphone and fibre optic cables.

The following types of KLOTZ cables were used:
- Digital SDI / HDTV video cable: 46 kilometres (V06/28H, V08/37H und V16/72H)
- SMPTE – FibreOptic camera cable: 20 kilometres (CAM311H mit LEMO konfektioniert)
- Analogue mikrophone cable: 18 kilometres (MY250CHSW)
- Triax camera cable: 16 kilometres (TRIA11SH)
- Analogue speaker cable: 6 kilometres (SCH2025)
- Digital multicore audio cable: 5 kilometres (OXCF08)- Analogue multicore cable: 3 kilometres (PX22CH08 and PX22CH12)
