Argentina’s Ideas del Sur Producciones Selects Grass Valley

Grass Valley HD Production Technologies for Country's #1 Show “Bailando por un Sueño" ("Dancing for a Dream")

Ideas del Sur Producciones, a premiere video production company with its studio based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, has purchased a new Grass Valley™ high-definition (HD) video production switcher and slow-motion replay system to produce a variety of live and pre-taped programs, including the country’s highest rated program “Bailando por un Sueño" ("Dancing for a Dream").

The program is now on-air with a newly upgraded HD studio and production control room equipped with a new Grass Valley Kayak™ HD production switcher and a K2 Dyno™ Replay System.

“We like working with Grass Valley technologies because we know they're reliable and offer the many features we need to support our clients’ demanding projects,” said Ruben Gerez, Engineering Director at Ideas del Sur Producciones. “The Kayak switcher is very easy to use and our crews really enjoy the interface and multi-layered effects. And, the K2 Dyno Replay Controller lets us avoid the financial hurdle of having to install multiple recorders for each channel. Our single Grass Valley K2 Summit™ server can record up to six camera sources at a very affordable cost. We’re very pleased with the performance.”

“Ideas del Sur Producciones handles lots of major television clients and needed flexible equipment that could be used in a variety of ways,” said Jeff Rosica, Executive Vice President of Grass Valley. “The Kayak HD switcher and K2 Dyno Replay System are exactly what they were looking for and should serve them well for a long time, so that angle replays of the contestants can be seen almost instantly.”
