TyC Sports Relies on Variety of FOR-A Switchers
The sports broadcaster is using FOR-A’s HVS-100 portable video switchers in several of its OB vans and satellite flypacks. The units were used for Torneos´ production of the World Football Championships in Brazil earlier this year, and are now covering various sporting events throughout Argentina.
Torneos appreciates the compactness of the HVS-100 switchers, and has found the units to be easy to install, configure and operate, and ideal in environments where physical space is limited. A major factor that drove the sports network to purchase the units was its cost efficiency. FOR-A’s HVS-100 offers a wide range of functions, including mixed HD/SD input, frame synchronization, multi-viewer capability, re-sizing engine, 2.5D wipe effects, DVE and keyer with chroma key.
First introduced into the market last year, the HVS-100 is a perfect fit for use in broadcasting vans. The unit comes standard with eight HD/SD-SDI inputs and four outputs (plus one HDMI output), and enables a maximum of 14 inputs and six outputs, or 12 inputs and eight outputs to be freely assigned.
FOR-A’s HVS-390HS video switcher is in use in a network control room for TyC’s studio production. The flexible, cost efficient switcher offers unique functionality that allows Torneos to do more with their productions. Their operators can use the switcher to deploy any aux bus transitions with cuts, mixes, or wipes, and display a keyer complete with DVE functions.
“Torneos is a major leader in Argentinian sports broadcasting,” said Mario Rodriguez, FOR-A’s Latin American sales manager. “FOR-A is happy to work with the channel and provide them with video production equipment that simplifies their operations. We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with Torneos as they continue to produce world-class professional sports coverage.”
