QVC Equips Broadcast Facility with Grass Valley’s Kayenne K-Frame Switchers

After careful consideration of all the high-end production switchers currently on the market, QVC selected Kayenne K-Frame switchers from Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, for its broadcast facilities at the company’s corporate headquarters in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

“In order to seamlessly provide fun and engaging programming to millions of homes across the U.S., QVC leverages the industry’s most innovative technologies,” said Joe Micucci, vice president, broadcast operations at QVC. “We chose the Kayenne K-Frame switcher because it provides the flexibility, fast setup, simple menu structure and intuitive layout required by QVC’s live broadcast 24 hours a day, 364 days of the year.”

Kayenne K-Frame Video Production Center delivers the highest level of performance available to live productions with innovative features and complete upgradeability. The modular Kayenne control panel can be mounted flat or in a banked curve, offering operators the perfect ergonomic work surface. The system’s video processing engine, K-Frame, delivers full multiformat support, including 1080p level A and B and 4K. When needed, Kayenne K-Frame can adapt to offer up to 192 inputs, 96 outputs and up to nine M/Es with six full keyers in every M/E.

“Our Kayenne K-Frame switcher will give QVC the ability to quickly build and modify shows in their production schedule,” said Stephen Stubelt, vice president of sales, North America, Grass Valley. “A core part of our mission is to make sure customers have what they need to succeed, so a Grass Valley support team will provide the ongoing support that QVC’s 24/7 production schedule demands.”
