NTP Technology at Tonmeistertagung 2012

.

In connection with the 22-25 November Tonmeistertagung 2012 exhibition in Koeln, NTP Technology announces the appointment of Munich-based SMM as principal distributor for its range of broadcast-quality audio routers. The agreement includes the Penta product line consisting of the 720, 721 and 725 IP together with control software.

"The NTP router family has some very exciting features from our perspective as an established distributor of Avid pro-audio equipment," comments SMM Sales Manager Michael Hofer. "The Penta 720 and 721 offer a completely new networking workflow for users of Avid Pro Tools HDX audio production workstations. People working with MADI links have hitherto been restricted to sending everything along a 32 channel multiplex. The Penta 720 and 721 allow individual channels to be routed to specific devices wherever they are in a network which is a very efficient way of working."

"SMM has an excellent reputation both for its understanding of the professional audio market and for the breadth of its product range," adds NTP Technology Sales Director Mikael Vest. "In addition to its Munich headquarters it has branches in Berlin, Koeln and Wiesbaden. It was also one of the first pro-audio dealers to become seriously active in online sales, winning a Golden Web award as early as 2004."

NTP will be present at Tonmeistertagung and hope to have the opportunity to inform visiting members of the press further about the co-operation with SMM and the exciting new product.

Co-exhibiting with Mutec on stand O-23, NTP Technology will be represented by Sales Director Mikael Vest who will also address the conference. Scheduled for Friday 23 November, 18.30 - 19.00, his presentation is titled 'High-quality low-latency audio routing via IP Ethernet, new trends and practical applications'.

"We will be promoting the Penta 725 IP, 720 and 721 routers as well as the AX24 and AX32 ultra high quality digital audio converters to the German broadcast, post-production and pro-audio market," says Mikael Vest. "We will have exceptionally high visibility at the event including demonstrations of the Penta 720 and 721 routers by Yamaha Music Europe on stand 0-19.

NTP Technology DAD AX32
Launched at IBC 2012 in September, the NTP Technology AX32 audio signal processor is a development of the highly successful 24-channel AX24 which is used by many of the world's leading studios for ultra-low-noise microphone preamplification as well as transparent analog-to-digital, digital-to-analog and bit-rate conversion. Designed for no-compromise audio recording, mastering, post-production, and future-proof archiving, the AX32 retains the flexible control features that have made the AX24 so popular.

Housed in a compact 2 rack-units high 19 inch wide chassis, the AX32 allows large multi-microphone arrays to be accommodated without the need to transport a second processor. All 32 microphone feeds can be connected back to the control room along a single Cat 5 cable via fully transparent and uncompressed IP Ethernet.

NTP Penta 725 IP-compatible audio interface
Also making its first Tonmeistertagung appearance, the Penta 721 IP-compatible audio router and distribution interface allows a full-bandwidth uncompressed network to be established quickly and easily, connecting an entire remote site or studio premises over a single Cat 5 Ethernet cable."

Eight AES/EBU input/output channels are incorporated, plus up to three MADI input/outputs, two IP Audio Ethernet inputs/outputs, and an interface allowing control from Avid Pro Tools. A mini-module slot accommodates ST optical MADI connection or dual SFP MADI optical in/out. The IP Audio protocol is based on the robust Audinate Dante digital audio network technology and will interoperate with Dante-compliant third-party products. IP Audio routing allows low-latency tightly-synchronised transport of uncompressed signals over Gigabit IP Ethernet Layer 3 networks using-off-the-shelf switches and routers. A total of 512 channels can be routed on a 1 Gigabit network; more if the network capacity is higher.
