The new 1U devices were only recently launched at this year’s BVE London and last September’s IBC exhibitions but have quickly found favour with Roy Callow, Director of Projects for Presteigne Charter. He commented “The three essential criteria for this kind of project are a high level of functionality and flexibility, ease and speed of use and the smallest dimensions achievable when you consider the limited confines the control room team are working within.”

Both the BM-A1-E16SHD audio monitor and the BM-AV1-E16SHD audio and video monitor provide the user with the ability to extract and monitor all 16 audio channels embedded in two 3G/HD, or SD SDI video streams, plus the ability to monitor multiple analogue and digital audio sources. The units are configured quickly using intuitive front panel controls, with metering on high resolution bargraph meters.
Callow went on to say “Bel’s solution to configuration was ideal for our needs. When you are configuring via a touch screen or complex menu structures when speed is of the essence it is so easy get it wrong and it takes time to correct it. With the rotary controls it really is simplicity itself. You just turn the control. Bel enables the operator to have the confidence in monitoring the correct signals on the device”
