Gearhouse Broadcast switches on the red light for remote production at IBC2015
posted:
This proven remote production solution from Gearhouse, enabled by top manufacturers, including EVS, Hitachi, Riedel, Tata Communications and Lawo, is ready for service now. It will provide broadcasters, production companies and rights owners with a more cost effective and efficient service to deliver more live content than current budgets and resources allow.
At the IBC2015 demonstration, HD footage from two Hitachi SK-HD1200 portable production cameras and a remote pan-tilt camera will be transported by two IP-based servers over a 10Gbit network. Audio with full control of mic levels, communications and tally signals will also be transported across this network seamlessly. This connectivity will demonstrate a true remote production with all the facilities that would be present on a normal production.

“Remote production’s time has arrived and it brings with it enormous creative and business benefits for our industry,” said Kevin Moorhouse, coo at Gearhouse Broadcast. “We’d been getting a lot of enquiries from clients about the feasibility of doing remote productions. There is a lot of interest out in the market already and we are delighted to be able to bring this exciting solution to IBC2015.”
IBC2015 runs from 11 to 15 September 2015 at the RAI Amsterdam. Gearhouse will run its remote production demo on stand 10.B39 throughout the show.
