G&D @ NAB
posted:
NAB is the place to be – for all challenges broadcasters have to deal with every day. Whenever content needs to be delivered from a source to the audience, NAB show provides solutions for every arising issue. But from time to time, these improvements can cause headaches for technicians and administrators.
A fact well-known to Guntermann & Drunck. For almost 30 years, they use their knowledge about control rooms to provide employees and computers with the best possible working conditions. During this time, G&D developed the reputation of being a leading manufacturer of digital and analog KVM products for versatile mission-critical and industrial sectors.
With its first appearance on the US market, G&D’s new KVM matrix switch, the ControlCenter-Digital, is the latest example of modular design fulfilling a wide range of requirements for application environments. From controller and switch cards over I/O cards up to power packs – the ControlCenter-Digital is fully modular. On top of this, all matrix ports can be used either as input or output ports. And if necessary, even the memory module storing the configuration data can be moved to a new controller card. Therefore the system provides a safe investment, which keeps up with all technical advancements.

Combination achieves benefits
On the US market Guntermann & Drunck is represented by its partner Apantac LLC. That’s why they will also share a booth at NAB. Together they developed a productive partnership. Apantac is a provider of cost-effective multiviewers, video walls and signal processing solutions.
Apantac’s multiviewers simultaneously display video signals from multiple digital or analog computers or further video sources on a multi-image screen or on large-display projections. In combination with a KVM switch users can also access and operate multiple computers over one keyboard and one mouse.
With G&D’s CrossDisplay-Switching function, switching between computers has never been easier. The mouse acts as if on a “virtual desktop” and can be moved seamlessly across the connected displays. Moving the cursor from the active to another display, the keyboard-mouse focus automatically switches to the connected computer; even when used with different operating systems. Now users can create a multi-monitor console and can operate their computers with only one keyboard and one mouse. The mouse becomes the ultimate intuitive switching tool.

Supports analog and digital video
In combination with KVM extenders and KVM switches, the powerful system can reach its full performance – all video sources are monitored and accessed from the same console, displaying crystal clear images including full-HD resolutions. The installation is simple and configuration is done via a user-friendly application.
Any display processing multiple images as employed in government applications, education and learning, corporate or medical, and traditional control room or broadcast and professional AV environments is just a mouse click away.
