EVS Provides India’s News 7 with a State-Of-The-Art HD News Workflow

The workflow uses the DVCPRO-HD file format

Prameya TV, part of India’s Summa Real Media Group, has selected a high-definition news workflow from EVS, the leading provider of live video production systems, for its News 7 news channel it was announced today.

“We wanted to ensure that we are geared for the evolving broadcast landscape,” said Sachidanand Singh, technical consultant at Summa Real Media Group. “EVS technology gives us the tools to facilitate more channels and meet the ever-increasing requirements needed to be the every best.”

Systems integrator DOTS Techno Creative implemented the new system that facilitates acquisition, post-production, distribution, video and audio archiving, and news-gathering operations.

EVS’ XS family, with its flexible configuration and native support for a wide range of codecs, ingests media from multiple sources - studios, outdoor shoots, live events and video tapes - and provides complete media control including live editing, multi-channel playback, playout and transfer to third-party systems.

The workflow, which uses the DVCPRO-HD file format, is tightly integrated with other station components and can be managed from a central location. Aveco Studio Automation and Octopus NRCS were also selected as part of the solution.
