Coppa Italia Final in 3D

Outside Broadcast NV covered the Finale of “la Coppa Italia” on 29 May in 3D.

Outside Broadcast NV again teamed -up with Frame Italia for the 3D live production and transmission of “la Coppa Italia“ Final between Inter & Palermo in the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

On 29 May 2011 Frame Italia covered the whole 2D production of the final between Inter and Palermo, whereas Outside Broadcast NV was in charge of the 3D production, including 6 stereo- cameras.

Outside Broadcast NV deployed its 3D OBVan Unit 14, equipped with the latest 3D state-of –the –art material: 1 side-by-side camera, 1 side-by-side camera for Steadicam and 4 3D cameras on mirror-rigs (Swissrigs). The experienced 3D team of Outside Broadcast consisted of a stereographer, technical managers, cameramen, convergence operators, vision engineers, etc

In 2009, the first 3D transmission was done by Outside Broadcast NV at the Golden League Athletics in Brussels. After several successful 3D-football games, Outside Broadcast NV was chosen to produce the Final of the UEFA Champions League in Madrid in 2010. With these excellent references, Frame Italia chose to work with the Belgian partner for this spectacular sport event.

The 3D content was broadcasted live in 32 Italian Cinemas of The Space Cinema group.

In the 2011 final of the Coppa Italia, the national cup competition, Inter defeated Palermo (3-1) led by a superb Eto’o who scored the 2 initial goal and handed its team a win against an opponent that played better football but failed to find the net until the end of the match.
