Sony Professional will replace the MDR studio system cameras with HDC-3500 camera chains, including HDVF-EL75//U OLED viewfinders. MDR will also be given the option to upgrade to UHD and IP 2110 in the future. Thanks to their integrated 2/3" 4K-CMOS sensors with global shutter technology, the new system cameras will allow MDR to improve their image quality in live production. The CMOS sensor technology produces artefact-free, razor-sharp images in 4K quality (2000 TV lines resolution), with low noise (-62dB), high sensitivity (F11 at 1080/50p) and wide dynamic range. In addition, a newly developed wide colour gamut prism block supports an extended broadcast-standard colour space according to ITU-R BT.2020.
