University of Miami's Dyvi-based production to be demonstrated at NAB2019 Show
At the 2019 NAB Show (booth SL3816), EVS will demonstrate the centralized production workflow implemented by the University of Miami (UM) for its live sports production. Home to the Hurricanes and 17 varsity sports, the university is the first educational institution to deploy EVS’ software-defined Dyvi switcher for high-quality programming of multiple sports from a centralized media production hub.
University of Miami Athletics Install DYVI Switcher Ahead of ACC Network Launch
The University of Miami (UM) – the home of Hurricanes Athletics – is set to become the first university in the US to deploy the software-defined DYVI switcher to produce live sports. The switcher from EVS, a leading provider of live production technology, is used by multiple professional sports teams and will be implemented into the athletics department’s campus production control room as it prepares to undertake its new production role for ESPN’s upcoming ACC Network.
University of Maine Brings Live Sports Streams to ESPN3 and Social Media with HITACHI HDTV Cameras
Implementing its first broadcast-quality video production initiative to support new online and social media distribution opportunities, the Athletics department at the University of Maine selected Z-HD5000 cameras from Hitachi Kokusai Electric America, Ltd. (Hitachi Kokusai) to provide the pristine picture quality and outstanding ease of use they needed. Building on the benefits the cameras bring to their live sports productions, the university also plans to extend its use of Z‑HD5000s to the educational curriculum with new video production courses next year.

United World Wrestling Selects Slomo.tv Video-refereeing
The international governing body for the sport of amateur wrestling, United World Wrestling (UWW) has selected slomo.tv as its technology partner for video-refereeing in all its matches. Based in Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland, UWW includes representatives from 176 national federations and its duties include overseeing wrestling at the Olympics. It presides over international competitions for various forms of wrestling, including Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling for men and women, as well as others.

One of the standout features of the arena is the center hung display that totals over 50 million pixels. In addition, the arena features a number of concourse, atrium and external displays that bring the overall pixel count to well over 100 million!

The series challenges gamers around the world to compete in first-person shooter, fighting, sports, battle royale and multiplayer online battle arena tournaments for a chance to earn the title of “Ultimate Gamer.” For its first-ever “Valorant” LAN tournament, which took place over the course of three days this summer in Miami, Suarez live streamed all of the action to fans worldwide via social media platforms. Using an AJA Ki Pro GO multi-channel H.264 recorder/player provided by systems integrator CineSys-Oceana, his team also captured highlights footage for integration into the three-day stream.
