Fuse Technical Group turned to 13 disguise gx 2c media servers with Designer software and Sockpuppet control features to help deliver a home game feel for teams and fans at home, as the NBA resumed its season. The NBA has set up a “bubble” isolation zone at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida to enable professional basketball to resume in the US, while keeping players safe. Although spectators were not permitted in the stands at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex where the games were held, fans have been able to watch televised basketball once again.

The 29th series of the popular TV dance competition “Dancing With The Stars” (DWTS) returned to ABC this month with new host Tyra Banks and 178 x Robe MegaPointes on the lighting plot as part of lighting designer Tom Sutherland’s precision-crafted epic look for the first series performed without a live audience!  Tom’s company DX7 Design was initially asked to develop lighting for the 2019 season by executive producer Andrew Llinares. He, Tom, and director Phil Heyes – who has been on DWTS USA for 5 years – have also all previously worked together including a while back on X-Factor in the UK.

MA Lighting consoles score big in the bubble for NBA restart

When professional basketball resumed in the US during the coronavirus pandemic, the NBA protected its players by establishing a “bubble” isolation zone at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida. Although the general public was not permitted in the stands at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex where the games were held, fans were glad to be able to watch the season’s televised final games and the playoffs once again.Fuse Technical Group, which supplied all the court video systems, provided four programmers with an arsenal of grandMA hardware to play back and trigger various assets and effects during the games: 5 x grandMA3 full-size units with 1 x MA NPU (Network Processing Unit) plus 2 x grandMA2 full-size and 1 x grandMA2 light consoles, the latter as backup systems and the tech desk.

Elation helps take street fighting to a new level in Tulsa

In mid-August, Matchroom Boxing and sports streaming service DAZN placed a boxing ring in the middle of the street in downtown Tulsa for a night of fighting action that gave a whole new meaning to street fighting. Omni Lighting in Tulsa was called on to light the event for co-producers Matchroom and DAZN and chose to support the action using an adaptable rig of Elation lights. multiCAM systems is helping France Télévisions deliver high-quality video coverage of the 2020 French Open, taking place at Stade Roland Garros in Paris, Sept. 27–Oct. 11.

Malaysia’s Merdeka Race 2020 Streams Live Four-wheel Race Coverage to Fans Across the Globe with AJA HELO

For four-wheel motorsports fans in Malaysia, Malaysian National Independence Day signals the start of the local racing season as drivers rev up their engines to compete in the annual Merdeka Race at the Sepang International Circuit. Though circumstances prevented spectators from cheering on their favorite drivers in the stands this past August, the event organizers developed a plan to ensure no one would miss out on the high-stakes action.
