Arch wins first point of 2010 in Red Bull Air Race Abu Dhabi Qualifying

Austria’s Hannes Arch won the first point of the 2010 Red Bull Air Race World Championship by posting the fastest time in Qualifying on Friday ahead of Saturday’s season opener in Abu Dhabi. Defending champion Paul Bonhomme of Britain made a thrilling dash to try to beat Arch and snatch the one point away from his rival but hit an Air Gate at the end of his run and ended up a disappointing third. Britain’s Nigel Lamb got second while Australia’s Matt Hall took fourth.

Defending champion Paul Bonhomme of Britain won the first Red Bull Air Race of the 2010 season in Abu Dhabi on Saturday with a hard-fought victory in scorching heat, finishing just ahead of compatriot Nigel Lamb (2nd) and Hungary’s Peter Besenyei (3rd) in an eventful battle over the turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf. Austria’s Hannes Arch finished a disappointing 11th after posting the fastest Qualifying time on Friday.

Polecam operator Steve Rausch has completed his second season capturing ISOC National SnoCross Racing (SnoX). Nine events were organized by the International Series of Champions during winter 2009-2010, each race being streamed live on the internet and later edited into a one-hour show for transmission on the Versus cable TV network.

The Guild of Television Cameramen's 'Shooting from Helicopters' workshop on March 27, hosted by Mike Smith of Flying TV HD at Denham Aerodrome, was a huge success reports the GTC's Workshop Coordinator Clive North. In addition to Mike and co-host Monica Wyer of Flying TV, the contributors were the GTC's very own experienced aerial cameramen Alan Duxbury, Laurie Gilbert and Rex Palmer. Forty members attended.
