Riedel MediorNet Fiber Network at the Alpine Ski World Championships 2011
The broadcasters ORF, ZDF and HD Resources used extensive Riedel MediorNet systems for distributing the signal at the Alpine Ski World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. A total of 29 mainframes were installed for integrating the OB truck with the venues Kandahar and Gudiberg, the Medal Plaza as well as the IBC and the TOC of the host broadcaster.

Electro-Voice triumphs at the FIS World Skiing Championships 2011
From February 7-20, the resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria was overrun by some 100,000-plus fans attending the 2011 edition of the FIS (or Fédération Internationale de Ski) World Championships. In addition to spectacular races, visitors were treated to a varied programme of entertainment that more than justified the organizers' claim that – far more than simply a sporting event – Garmisch-Partenkirchen was offering visitors a “festival in the snow”. Medal Plaza, for instance, in Michael Ende Park, was the scene each evening not only for the presentation ceremonies but also for shows featuring top German and Austrian acts like Ich + Ich, Culcha Candela, Christina Stürmer and DJ Ötzi, each drawing audiences of up to 4,000 fans at a time.

The 48th FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011, takes place at Holmenkollen in Oslo 23rd February to the 6th March. It´s the fifth time in history Norway have organized the event. ACS Tethered Blimp flying over Oslo
Working with host broadcaster NRK and OB Team, the ACS Tethered Blimp has been flying above the city of Oslo providing aerial coverage of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. Fitted with a HD Cineflex V14 stabilised mount the blimp is currently operating in temperatures of around -20°C whilst achieving dramatic shots of the Championships.
