For the TV broadcast of the Grammy Awards last Sunday, RailCam Robotic Systems premiered the new RTS MagCam paired with a NEWTON stabilized camera head. The MagCam is a remote-controlled wheeled dolly with telescopic tower, that follows a magnetic tape line on the floor. This tape can be attached or adjusted in seconds and this allows for very quick and agile installs of remote TV cameras with repeatable moves.

Since its inception in 2011, the Woodstock der Blasmusik festival has been attracting crowds of up to 60,000 brass music fans each June to Ort im Innkreis in Austria. With brass aficionados obliged to stay at home by Covid 19, this year the organisers treated them to an evening of livestreamed performances from the festival site, featuring eight bands and mixed from an Allen & Heath dLive system.

When Toshiya Homma, prominent Japanese sound designer and CEO of Tokyo-based Flic Pro Co., Ltd., is called on to design the sound for popular musicals in Japan, he turns to Wisycom, designer and builder of the most sophisticated RF solutions for broadcast, film and live production. Homma’s company, Flic Pro Co., Ltd., was established in 1996 to manage sound reinforcement systems in theaters operated by Toho Co., Ltd. all over Japan.
 

For this year’s VELUX EHF4 Champions League Finals in the Lanxess Arena on June 3 & 4 Elements Entertainment GmbH again produced the entertainment program. This company hired Production Resource Group AG for the technical realization, which in turn chose HDwireless from Mechernich for the substantial wireless video transmission.

It has become tradition to celebrate New Year ’s Eve at the Marina Bay in Singapore – in fact, each year it attracts 100,000 people to this festivity. For 11 years it has been Esplanade’s job, together with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore, to organise and facilitate this massive event – last year alone it included 8 minutes of firework displays and 20,000 “wishing spheres” along the river. Each sphere was signed by several people during previous months, with messages expressing wishes and hope to the upcoming year.

In Europe, Robbie Williams is a legend; he regularly fills stadiums and his productions are some of the most anticipated on the continent. One of his dreams was to do a Vegas show, and to make every detail of Williams’ show perfect, Production and Lighting Designer Sean Burke, principal at Holes in the Dark, needed reliable wireless DMX technology. “When the wireless stuff came up, I did a bit of research on it, looked around, and saw that Baz [Halpin, of Silent House Productions] used RC4 Wireless products on the last Katy Perry tour. I know the crew chief, and he said they didn’t have any problems with it,” confides Burke. That was enough for him to entrust RC4 Wireless with the job for Williams’ “Live in Las Vegas” show. Matt Bakken, the Master Electrician on the show, adds: “When a lot of people in the touring industry use wireless, they use equipment from RC4; to me, if your wireless is working in a stadium with 25,000 plus people with cell phones, that’s good enough for me.”
