Award-winning pre and post production facility Films@59 has today announced that it has provided all post production services for the new season of BBC One and BBC HD’s popular drama series Mistresses. The four x 60 minute production, which airs throughout August on Thursday evenings at 9pm, was produced by Ecosse Films and was shot on location in and around Bristol on the RED One camera, also supplied by Films@59.

Digital Vision has today announced that its Nucoda Film Master was used to conform and grade the new series of BBC One’s Mistresses by Bristol based facility Films@59. Produced by Ecosse Films, Mistresses delves into the tangled lives of four female friends and their relationships. The first of the four-part 60 minute drama aired on 5th August.

As part of its commitment to illustrating its cutting edge agenda, IBC is offering special screenings of two major movies in stereoscopic 3D. The viewings, which are open to all IBC visitors, demonstrate both the state of the art in digital movie creativity and the latest projection and sound reproduction capabilities.

The MPEG Industry Forum (MPEGIF), the world’s largest advocacy group for standard’s based digital television technologies is presenting its latest MPEGIF Master Class titled “An Expert Glimpse of TV in 2011 and Beyond”, to be held at IBC 2010 on Monday, September 13th between 11:30am and 1:00pm at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam.

Longtime grandMA user Chris Kuroda, who’s marking his 22nd year as the lighting designer for the rock band Phish, has taken a pair of grandMA2 full-size consoles along on the musicians’ cross-country summer tour. Lighting programmer Andrew Giffin suggested using the grandMA2 for lighting control, and Kuroda reports that the two desks have been “a 100 percent complete and utter success. They’ve been incredibly wonderful – I’m very happy with them.”
