For the fourth year running Gearhouse Broadcast were awarded the contract to supply radio microphone equipment for the judges, hosts and contestants for the ITV live studio show of Britain’s Got Talent. The show regularly attracts an average viewing audience of over 10 million.

(Booth 8E3-06) will highlight Slate Portable, which provides the productivity of a control room in a briefcase-sized package, and the iPixPanel application, which allows an Apple iPad to control any Broadcast Pix video production system.

It was the party of the year: On May 29, NDR and the city of Hamburg invited the public to view the Eurovision Song Contest final on a live screen on the Reeperbahn. The visitors enjoyed a live broadcast from Oslo on a huge screen as well as a stage program with Xavier Naidoo and Nena as the top acts. The broadcast was taken over by NDR using audio technology from the SALZBRENNER STAGETEC MEDIAGROUP.

NRK, Norway’s public broadcaster, successfully hosted this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, which was held last week in Oslo. EVS’ new XT[2]+ servers and its Full Tapeless Workflows played a key role in bringing this spectacular event to millions of viewers all over Europe.

Considered the world’s largest non-sport television production, the Eurovision Song Contest Finale is being broadcast live from the Telenor Arena, in Oslo, Norway during several dates in late May. Started in 1956, the contest has since grown to include two live semi-finals, which are held on the 25th and the 27th of May. NRK, the national public broadcaster of Norway (the winning country in 2009), is the host broadcaster this year. The final broadcast consists of entries from 25 countries. The host nation is pre-qualified for the final, along with the UK, Spain, France and Germany, and the 20 qualifiers from the two Semi-Finals, leading up to the Grand Finale held on May 29th.

NewTek Europe - 3D Storm SARL has announced that NewTek TriCaster™ portable live production system was chosen to produce and stream “Dias de Moda”, a major fashion show host by El Corte Inglés in Valencia, Spain. From 4 to 7 may 2010, Spain’s famous department store opened its doors to some of the best local and international fashion designers featuring the latest collections of Francis Montesinos, Dolores Cortés, Carlos Haro, Liz Calibourne New York, Decenio, Armand Bassi and Gant Women among others. The four day event was broadcast, recorded and streamed by Spanish Broadcaster Levante TV (Grupo Editorial Prensa Iberica).

The opening plenary session of the IBC2010 conference will feature an address by Sir Michael Lyons, the chairman of the BBC Trust, on the future of public service broadcasting. The session also includes keynote addresses by Yoshinori Imai, vice president of Japanese national broadcaster NHK, and by Ingrid Deltenre, director general of the European Broadcasting Union. All three will be subject to questioning from leading media journalist and commentator Raymond Snoddy.
