London’s iconic Southbank Centre has stood proudly on the south bank of the river Thames for nearly 70 years. A celebration of progress and modernity, Europe’s largest arts venue was built in 1951 for the Festival of Britain and, under normal circumstances, stages over 2000 performances of music, dance and literature a year, and more than 2000 free events.
Ayrton Fixtures Join the Circus
When Circus Flic Flac rolled into town at Westfalenhalle, Dortmund for its ninth annual Christmas show, it brought with it a 1200-capacity Circus Tent, an array of exceptionally talented human-only artistes and a stunning Ayrton lighting arrangement by talented lighting designer, Christopher Rostalski, from CR-Lichtdesign in Soest, Germany.
Ayrton Diablo tours Sweden for the first time with Riksteatern’s Love Songs
Riksteatern, the Swedish National Touring Theatre, was due to take its production of Love Songs on a three month tour of Sweden from early March, with lighting director and designer, Jörgen ‘Hajen’ Haimanas, choosing 6 Ayrton Diablo LED profile luminaires as a major feature of his lighting design, in what would be Diablo’s first national tour of Sweden. Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, the tour was only able to complete the first five dates before it was necessarily postponed by lockdown.

Ayrton adds architecture to Appelt’s Eurovision splendour
Ayrton is extremely proud that lighting designer, Jerry Appelt, chose more than 700 Ayrton fixtures for his stellar design at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Appelt chose not to incorporate any video element in the show, instead returning to a lighting-based design in which Ayrton fixtures were a key creative feature adding depth, architecture and variety to the visuals. With over 2000 fixtures using 300 universes and 150,000 channels, Eurovision is the biggest production in the world and demands the highest production levels.
Axwell^Ingrosso Dream Bigger with HSL in the Steel Yard
HSL supplied a large floor-and-roof specials lighting package – over 180 fixtures – which was specified by show designer Andy Hurst for Swedish DJ duo Axwell^Ingrosso’s banging set in the Steel Yard.
The large industrial strength temporary venue structure has been making a few appearances around the UK and was erected in Victoria Park, Hackney, for a two day dance music extravaganza – Steel Yard London – presented by Creamfields over the late May bank holiday weekend.
In addition to overseeing the show’s general visuallity, Andy worked closely on a lighting design with Dan Robinson who programmed and operated lights for the show, while Andy ran over 100 lasers which were supplied by ER.

Avraham Tal is one of the best known and most successful contemporary Israeli singer / songwriter and multi-instrumentalists – known for the amazing power and distinctive texture and colour of his voice – as well as for constantly developing and reimagining the style and flow of his music. His 2019 tour takes a more electronic clubby vibe than previously, and with that, he wanted fresh input on the lighting front and a spec including Robe MegaPointes, Spiiders and BMFL Spots.

Avolites' Ai S8 'one box solution' Media Server on Above & Beyond world tour
The band, who have been voted into DJ Magazine's 'Top 100 DJs' six times, started their Acoustic ll tour on the 5th of May at London's Royal Albert Hall and finished on the 6th of June at the Sydney Opera House. The tour visited some of the world's most iconic venues, including two sell-out dates at the Greek Theatre, Los Angeles. Its spectacular visuals, designed by Neil Marsh, featured a mix of video, graphics and live camera footage from six on-stage robotic cameras.
