UK indie rockers Circa Waves are certainly making some waves right now, and the release of their second album “Different Creatures” brings some more serious, hard-hitting and thought-provoking messages along with solid catchy rhythms. Lighting designer Ed Warren started working with Circa Waves at the start of this album campaign in October 2016. Having known their management team for some time, all the circumstances and stars aligned to make it the right time for Ed to add his ideas and imagination to the stage presentation on recent UK and European legs of the tour.

Robe’s news team met the Larssons at a special 10th anniversary edition of Let's Dance in Sweden, where they were busy in Magazin (warehouse) 7 at the Frihamnen container port and ferry terminal in Stockholm, a frenetic site specific location that has provided a gritty and visceral juxtaposition to the glamour and glitter of the hit ballroom dancing TV series.
Robe MegaPointes for the People’s Choice
Tom utilized 154 x Robe MegaPointe moving lights – all supplied by Felix Lighting – as part of the lighting package which helped create a stylish super-clean architectural aesthetic for this year’s live broadcast. The popular online-voted awards show that recognizes achievements across multiple fields of entertainment took on a different format this year, with a digital live audience replacing a real one in the venue, all requiring a novel approach by camera director Ryan Polito, creative director Paul Caslin and production designer Florian Wieder.

There is absolutely no lack of creativity or ideas when it comes to artists performing in the world of Covid-19 lockdowns and other restrictions … In Kyiv, Ukraine, ‘Vertical Concerts’ were initiated by rock band Green Grey who performed on the rooftop of a building opposite the city’s Bratislava Hotel … where fans occupied 9 stories of rooms with separate balconies, each with a fantastic socially distanced view of the gig! Leading Ukraine rental and technical production company Alight was asked to provide lighting for the rooftop stage – actually atop the Hotel Bratislava’s separate restaurant building – with a production lighting design created by Eugene Kostyra which included 10 x Robe MegaPointes.

ROBE Morning Blossoms World Premiere
‘Morning Blossoms’ is an extraordinary and breathtakingly beautiful ‘Brave New Musical’ produced by ODD Continent, fusing the disciplines of opera, ballet, dance, music and drama in a compelling performance about parents, children, families and communities separated by natural disasters.
World premiered at The Spiegel Theatre in Zwolle, Netherlands, the action starts on March 10th 2011, the day before the 9.0 Mw earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tōhoku which triggered devastating tsunami waves up to 40 metres high sweeping up to 10 Kilometres inland, annihilating large areas of Japan’s East Coast and claiming over 15,000 lives.

Innovative and cutting edge French artist / music producer DJ Snake rocked the Paris Zenith with an incendiary set and a spectacular new visual design by Romain Pissenem of creative production company High Scream … utilizing a lighting rig of nearly 200 Robe moving lights including 64 of the new Spiider LED wash beams, 80 x Spikies, 32 x Pointes and 11 x BMFL WashBeams.
