Creative visual design practice Painting with Light helped take Belgium’s 2016 Schlagerfestival to a new level of presentational excellence with an impressive multi-dimensional stage, set, video and lighting design.

Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) who blended the sounds, rhythms and riffs of contemporary rock and pop with classical arrangements to produce a unique sound that was massively popular in the 1970s and 80s … hit the road again for the first time in 27 years, led by singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and one of the original founding members, Jeff Lynne.

Working with Eurovision’s technical and creative teams, lighting designer Jönsson arranged the Scenius above the stage on straight truss. From here the fixtures worked with the Mythos, Sharpy and Sharpy Wash 330S to complement the ‘infinity’-style perspective of Frida Arvidsson and Viktor Brattström’s bold set design. Chinese production company, Hunan Broadcasting System, recently purchased an Allen & Heath GLD-112 digital mixer with AR2412 and AB168 IO racks to manage its live entertainment shows, starting with the most popular entertainment show in China, Super Girl.

Direct from a highly successful tour at home in America, alt-metal stars Deftones arrived at Wembley’s SSE Arena at the beginning of June to play a large scale one-off show prior to a series of European festivals including Germany’s Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park, Greenfield in Switzerland, Download in the UK and France, and Iceland’s Secret Solstice, with lighting support from Entec throughout the run.

Held in Bela Vista Park in Lisbon, Gabisom Audio Equipment from Brazil deployed Martin Audio’s premier MLA rig on the World Stage for the first time at the recent five-day Rock in Rio Festival in Lisbon. In doing so it was the largest deployment of MLA on a single stage.

Kinesys automation was an integral element of Sean Burke’s elegant production design for Mariah Carey’s ‘Sweet Sweet Fantasy’ tour which just completed a substantial UK and European leg as the multiple Grammy award winning, chart-topping artist delighted audiences on her first mainland European tour in 13 years.
